The Black Dirge [Sci-fi]

Zee pauses for a moment before scooping Kimiko up into her arms in a single swift movement.

"If you can't stand on your own then i'm not letting you try. at least not while you still have that IV in your hand." Zee comments levely, but kindly as she walks to the bed and gently places Kimiko on the bed. "There. that's got to be more comfortable."

Kimiko turns bright red when she's held and carried, and is secretly really happy for it, but doesn't let on, "I-I-I c-could've stood...! Y-y-you didn't have to carry me...!" She quickly grabs Yukki, her stuffed bear, and hugs it tightly for comfort. Well, that certainly get her moving quicker. =o

"And risk you pulling that needle out before you get all your fluids? not a chance." Zee's kind but firm on this matter. After making sure that Kimiko is safe and secure Zee sits down on the floor, well outside of arms reach and looks thoughtfully at Kimiko.

"So. What did you want to talk about before all this.... thisness, happened?"

[Hitoshirenu Shourai]

"Eh? Ah... um... you don't... have to sit on the floor... it's a big bed." The bed is a normal size. She just seems small in it. "Well... I was talking to Maa-kun earlier... and I think the reason I... was always sickly... is because of my powers. I... think I took their illnesses... I mean, my class in school, they... always had the least amount of sick people... excluding me... so that makes sense." She switches to hugging Yukki with the other hand, making sure the needle isn't removed, and reaches up, playing with her hair, "But... the reason I'm here isn't because of... that. It was how... I used my powers without realizing it. I was walking home... with a friend, and... there was an accident... she was really hurt, like... her belly was sliced open... I... sorta... pushed those back in, and... I put pressure on the wound, like everyone is taught... and I just kind of did it... I took away her pain... then her wound... and it hurt so much, but she was okay." She set Yukki aside and pulled up her shirt just enough to show the newest, red scar, "This is where she was hurt. And... it still hurts, but... she's better... that's good enough for me..." She gives a tired, happy smile.

[accalia]

"Well, isn't that something." Zee mutters, ignoring the comment about using the bed for now "Well, now that you know about your powers you can work on controlling them, that way when someone gets a papercut that will heal on its own in a bit you don't end up with the papercut yourself. Maybe even control how much you heal so it doesn't hurt you as much when you do intervene."

[Hitoshirenu Shourai]

"Ah... but I'm used to pain... it's okay. As long as they're fine... I'll be okay." She continues smiling, and nods, looking satisfied with her own answer.

[accalia]

"You should take care of yourself as well. If you kill yourself saving them they will not thank you near as much as if you save both them and yoruself." Zee snaps. That touched a nerve!

[Hitoshirenu Shourai]

Kimiko seems surprised at the snappy response, and after a pause, answers, "I... don't need thanks. I just need to.. be useful." She frowns and resumes hugging her stuffed bear.

[accalia]

"Then be useful today, and be useful tomorrow, and the next day, and the next. Don't be useful once and call it good enough." Zee's not yelling, but her voice is certainly intense. Yep. that's a raw nerve that got struk.

[Hitoshirenu Shourai]

"Ah..." She stops playing with her hair and hugs the bear with both arms, "S-sorry..." Clearly she isn't used to thinking much of herself. This will take a lot of time and patience to figure out, for both of them.

[accalia]

Zee sighs, this is going to be hard and long......

"What are we sorry for now? For being yourself? That's nothing you should apologize for."

[Hitoshirenu Shourai]

"F-For upsetting you..." she stops herself from saying what else she's thinking and just hugs her bear in silence.

[accalia]

Hmm. That's something she can work with.

"Is that something you want to avoid doing in future? Do you know why you upset me?"

Zee hasn't tried this approach before, let's see how well it works.

[Hitoshirenu Shourai]

She's silent for a moment, then nods, "I think so... but... j-just to be sure... m-maybe you could confirm..." Hard to tell if she really knows or not. Whatever the case, she needs educated.

[accalia]

"If I tell you, what have you really learned? tell me what you think you understand and we'll go from there." Zee says levelly. She's not about to let Kimiko get away with having Zee do the work, but a slight twist of the lips reveals that she is pleased with the attempt.
