"Trigger event...? Oh... you must mean that. That made my powers kind of obvious huh... I didn't even know I could do it until I did it... ahaha..." The laughter wasn't helping. Wow is she awkward. "My... trigger event, um... well a friend got hurt really bad, and... I healed her... and there were a lot of people around... so..." She then kinda held out her hands like she's saying 'and that's why I'm here.'

"We're working on it." Zee snaps "Let's suit up and do this. I'll take point as Shin said, Cordy, You follow behind. Kimiko, i want you running comms and intel. I showed you the interfaces earlier this week, Nows a great time to get good with them." Zee snaps the orders out crisply and with authority, but she's also smiling, she anticipates this being fun. It's not often she gets to really let loose, and with Shin's RoE on this one she'll have a proper chance!

CalamityJade

Morden gave a long sigh. They HATED field missions and here was Shinigami purposely trying to force them into the field. It bothered them...but Zee was basically the boss. "Wouldn't it be easier to subdue any opposition first and then just make a sprint there and back?"

Hitoshirenu Shourai

Kimiko takes out her datapad. She's been forced to get into the habit of carrying it around. She readies herself for the things assigned to her!!!

accalia

"Hmm.... that would be easier. Shin, what's the book on that strategy?" Zee asks after thinking about Morden's words for a moment.

yamikuronue

"Negative. If we take out the drone, we pick a war with Iron Dragon. The drone has sensors as good as yours, so if you want more time, you have to hide in a way you can't see through or pull off the field entirely."

accalia

"Hmph. figures. I assume delaying to let the drone pass and attempt the retrieval afterwards has its own consequences. No doubt the drone will trigger a retrieval team?" Zee continues the line of questioning.

yamikuronue

"If the drone sees anything, a retrieval team will be on site within ten minutes. If the drone does not see you, another flyby will occur after thirty more minutes."

accalia

Zee nods at the analysis.

"So, we go with the original plan. Understood."

CalamityJade

Morden did alright keeping their verbal annoyance in check, but they were obviously not excited to be doing field work. If it wasn't a remote drone, the possiblility of having it malfunction when close wouldn't work, either. Not to mention most of the things they'd do to prevent it from reporting required a couple of minutes with the thing physically. "Couldn't we get Siggy to bypass the drone's signal?" Morden didn't mind that Sigfried was the more subtle option for information retrieval, as Morden was much more at home with information destruction, sabatoge and general scattering of salt on uncomfortable earth...though there was still a LITTLE bit of a thing with the two of them.

yamikuronue

"This is a teamwork exercise," Shinigami repeats, scowling at Morden. "Not a test of Sigma's skills. Assume he has tried and failed to hack the drone."

accalia

Zee nods. that's a plan then.

"Right, take five to prepare what you need to prepare, then we go in and do the job. Get it done in less than twenty and drinks are on me next time we've got leave."

yamikuronue

By the time they assemble before the doors, Shinigami has come and gone. As usual, she'll be watching from high above, a map loaded into her datapad with the position of everyone's comm units.

The rack of comm units is waiting for them outside the door, each unit labelled with the team member's name -- even Kimiko's. There is a belt unit and a headset for each of them, already paired and keyed to the frequency Sigma is using in the operations room. The tracker is in the belt unit, as that's less likely to fall off; Shinigami is known to get creative with obstacles inside.

As each put on their headset and report their status over the radio, the reassuring voice of Sigma replies to acknowledge their callsigns. "Copy Marbles, over," he replies. "Copy Zee, over." For all but the newest of them, that voice has been a lifeline on missions that have gone bust or otherwise failed to survive first contact with reality, organizing an evac and providing much-needed intel. The headset and Sigma's voice do a lot to get the team into mission mindset, even for this simple training exercise.

When they enter the room, Zee encounters the first wrinkle: it's dark. The lights are out, and there's a bit of smoke thrown out by a fog machine to further complicate matters. With her enhanced vision, she can see Shinigami has pulled out all the stops, arranging large furniture pieces and smaller ones to create almost a jungle. There are sure to be traps in there, and with a healer on the team, they might even be deadly -- or at least very painful. Some of the traps fire paintballs instead of bullets, of course, but a fall or being trapped under debris can't be simulated as easily.

accalia

Zee blinks, adjusting her vision a bit into the infrared, it made greens, blues and purples a lot harder to distinguish, but also let her see the heat generated by living things.... somewhat. depth perception when relying on augmented vision was a real bugger.

"Comms check!" Zee orders as she scans the area quickly, getting her bearings. "Sound off by the numbers."

CalamityJade

Morden grimaced at the blacked-out room. And it was dark, too! Why the hell was it dark too!? "This is three, wondering why it's a complete black-out." If they had to do this the hard/dumb( In their opinion) way, then they should have some kind of light. "Also, we have any idea what the target looks like? Over." At least they used the correct radio ending rather than just leaving it off like the first few times.
