The Black Dirge [Sci-fi]

Morden gave an internal sigh. "Bustles and Tiara's aside, any idea on what they're going to have. Not exactly useful if they're in full plas-tech armor." Not that they wanted to HAVE To do that, but it was better than a lot of alternatives. Running from the authorities or being a lab experiment being the top forerunners for 'worse than people possibly shooting at them. At least being paired with Marbles helped make the shooting part a little easier.

"Armor's expensive, and they're mercs. Probably good weapons thoguh."

[Hitoshirenu Shourai]

"So... um... if I'm going with Zee... what exactly am I doing?"

[accalia]

"Keeping you head down so you don't get shot, and making sure i don't miss anything important." Zee says while shrugging "We've been training for this so you'll do fine. sure these will be people not target dummies, but if it helps you pull the trigger know that they won't hesitate to pull the trigger on you."

[Rednaxela]

Kenji shakes his head slightly, "Well, they might hesitate just a little in a moment of panic if they notice Zee barreling toward them..."

Then after a slightly pause, "But anyway, yeah, you'll be fine."

Kimiko frowns, clearly unsure as to how she'll perform. Sure, she's improved by leaps and bounds since the beginning of training, but there's a vast difference between training and actual combat. Specifically, she'll be expected to shoot at actual people. "Right... Fine..." she forces a smile, "I'll do my best."

Morden gives a bit of a laugh. "You're gonna be with Miss CS. Probably even safer than with Marbles." They were the one that was gonna have issues with being shot at. The mercs will probably just aim for Zee and leave her alone, thinking she's some kinda back-up.

Zee glares at Morden. It's not that she disagrees with the sentiment.... Just you know..... not in front of the newbie maybe?

[Hitoshirenu Shourai]

She kinda stares at nothing, panicking a bit. 'I'm going to be shot at... with real weapons... they're going to try to kill me...'  her thoughts accelerate, and she adopts a blank expression, her face paling noticably. Definitely looks uncomfortable about the entire thing.

Zee puts a hand on her shoulder. "Kid, you're going to do just fine. Hell you're doing better than I was my first deployment."

[Hitoshirenu Shourai]

"If... if you say so..." She looks then to Zee, "Your first deployment... what was it like?"

[accalia]

"Hell." Is Zee's reply. "We deployed into a firefight in an active volcano. Fortunately we've got better intel on this op and there aren't volcanoes in space."

[Hitoshirenu Shourai]

"Did you have many people with you?" A bit less hesitation in her voice, mostly regarding asking questions. She still looks far from ready, though.

Zee shakes her head "Twenty people plus sarge. I was the only one Sarge managed to drag back home. But enough about the past, if you want the rest of the story you'll need to get me drunk. Eyes on the mission."

[Hitoshirenu Shourai]

"..." This summary did not help assuage Kimiko's worries, not in the slightest. There's a very real possibility she, or Zee, or the others, could be killed on this mission. She very much does not want that to happen, and it shows on her face. She's practically shivering with fear and nervousness.
