"...OK, it's a different type of thread, and not a type we're interested in. And we both ran off without a moment's thought, leaving my friend alone in the bar."

Rob sighs in exasperation.

"Still," he continues, turning back to the guy, "that doesn't explain who you thought I was when you bolted."

"Some nosy guy. Kinda like a reporter, alright!" The man was clearly agitated. And as he got agitated, T would start to notice that something off was going on...like she could see something in the direction of the thread. Something...that she just barely couldn't make out.

T squints, moving a little closer to see if she can make out any detail.

And that's when something truly strange happens. She sees...something suddenly appear. She can't really say it's more than something because it just won't focus no matter how hard she tried to look at it. It was a shape, and it definitely moved, but her brain would just not parse out anything more than that. Then there was just the overwhelming sense of dread and fear. She was in danger. Immense danger and her instincts were screaming at her to move...or it might be Crys, since his 'voice' moved from thoughts in her brain to emotions that she could feel weren't entirely her own.

T doesn't scream, or even shout a warning to Rob. Her eyes wide, and then instinct takes over -- she pulls out her knife and begins running backward so she can keep an eye on it. She's gotten rather adept at scuttling backwards -- part two of her typical escape plan is to spin and bolt as soon as she has enough distance between her and the thing that she doesn't think it'll hit her from behind.

Rob notices T acting strangely; not really sure what's going on, and with the guy not giving him anything useful, he decides it's not worth continuing, and unbinds the man's wrists.

"Go on, get outta here," he instructs the man; he then turns to T, but doesn't make any attempt to move closer to her, instead adopting a neutral stance and a concerned expression.

There's a loud cracking sound just above their heads and a very quick THUD! Rob felt the wind rushby him just behind the back of his head. it was another beat before he heard a second crack from up above.

To T, it looked like the things moved some part of itself where the thread had been and then part of the building above them pulled free and landed JUST behind Rob.

Is that.... the City? she wonders, swallowing.

Shit, it's going to kill him! Just for being too close!

Crys.... if you have any way of reaching Mordriana, you might want to, she thinks, tucking the crystal under a bench as she takes a deep breath. Then she's off like a shot, running toward the monster, knife at the ready.

Rob's instincts kick in; he ducks down and covers his head, attempting to protect himself. As the dust cloud blows past him, he looks up just in time to see T charging knife-first; Rob rolls to one side out of her way.

T saw the...thing make another motion and had an intense feeling like it was looking at her.

Rob saw her charging and then there was a bright flash as the second cracking sound happen and he could see another part of the building near the top crash down where she'd been standing.

~What the hell were you thinking?!~ when the dust settles the...thing was gone and she was surrounded in smashed rock. Crys was glowing almost right in her face. It was something akin to when she first heard him talk.

I have to stop that thing! she insists, a bit dazed but no less determined.

~It was leaving! I...just....for some reason that thing was not to be fucked with. I...think it was leaving anyway.~

Leaving...? She peers up, trying to catch a glimpse of the thing.

As her vision cleared, the thing was gone and she was surrounded by some broken bits of the building. They were also drawing the crowd and there was a sound of a siren. Someone probably got in contact with the police

....Shit, the cops!

She tenses, folding her knife and looking around for Rob.
