Go Down

CalamityJade

"Well, if you DO have an acceptable time, then we'll talk about how you can help the other side of my business. And we could split that over a few months....maybe three crowns and 5 scales  a month?" That...was quite generous. Though he DID seem like the sort that probably could wait a while for ten crowns.

yamikuronue

Hmm.. that's not bad at all. And it'd buy her some time to find better work -- this convenience store gig wasn't going to cut it, and if she could dress up nice and go to this bazaar....

"I'll do it. Yes, definitely."

CalamityJade

He smiled and offered his hand. "Excellent. Then we have an agreement. Miss Cain will have the crowns for you once we finish here."

yamikuronue

Erika smiled, a real smile this time, as she shakes his hand. "Thank you so much."

CalamityJade

There was a slight...spark as they shook. It was probably the dry air. Mr. Harrox gave a smile back. "Then let's hope for a better fate for you." On the way out, there was an actual sack on the desk on the way out.

Days become evening and eventually fade to night. This night, however, was the Grail Boulevard Bazaar! The streets are almost flooded with people young, old, rich, less off and in between. There are even vendors selling street food on the corners as onlookers pass by. People had come from all over to enjoy an evening of celebration, food...and seeing if the best of the best showed up.

The band was in full swing and the music was really flowing, there were lots of fancy people here. Sure, a lot of people were here to see Break of Dawn sing, but for now people were enjoying the brass band and the dancing.

Erika didn't buy a golden ballgown. Where would you even get one? But she did buy a dark skirt that swirls and sways as she walks, and a navy-and-white blouse with crisp lines that made her feel smart and rich, and she'd taken the time to clean her boots carefully until they shone too. She didn't have much cash, but she could certainly chat with vendors, see if anyone needs more part-time help.

Hammer Sister

Rob makes his way towards one of the street-corner food vendors; he pauses as someone catches his eye. Turning to get a better look, taking care to hide his stare under the brim of his trilby, he takes in the woman's appearance; the blouse and the skirt are clearly brand-new, but the boots are old and well-worn.

She seems to have the air of the Abandoned about her...

Normally, he'd just ignore such an unfortunate soul; this time, however, his curiosity gets the better of him. He weaves through the crowd, and ambles alongside the woman.

"I take it this is your first Annual Bazaar?"

And then the murders began.

yamikuronue

Erika jumps, her head having been deep in a daydream about how her interview might go when she impresses one of the jewlery vendors.

"Oh! Good evening. Yes, yes it is. Is it yours?"

Hammer Sister

"Yes it is, miss. Maybe, if you're not otherwise engaged, you'd like to join me exploring?"

And then the murders began.

yamikuronue

Erika blinks. Is he... flirting with her? "I... would like that. I'm sorry, I didn't catch your name...?"

Hammer Sister

"My apologies; my name is Rob McCarthey."

And then the murders began.

yamikuronue

"I am Erika Stark, and very pleased to meet you."

Hammer Sister

"Pleased to meet you too," Rob smiles warmly. "I was just about to get something to drink; what would you like?"

And then the murders began.

yamikuronue

She flushes. "Water is fine, thank you."
