Go Down

yamikuronue

Shit, shit, shit, she thinks, trying to keep back until she can see what it is.

Hammer Sister

"Of course," Rob assures, shaking Vormir's hand. That rules out some of the more extreme methods... but then I'm not exactly eager to use them anyway. "And I'll do my best to expedite my investigations in order to bring these felons to justice."

And make a sweet load of cash for myself.

And then the murders began.

CalamityJade

Vormir gave a nod. "Then I will let you do your work. You will be contacted about your fees and compensated accordingly." Well, at least he didn't seem to think Rob should be working for the 'privilege of helping the Welcomed.' Maybe the GRD isn't nearly as bad as their reputation.

When T backed off this time, Dergus pulled out...something a bit odd. It looked like a gun. She'd probably seen a few in her past home, but this one was different. The barrel seemed too short and it didn't have the revolving barrel for the bullets. In it's place was a box that stuck out on both sides with some wires that were attached to the grip and the barrel. He pointed the weapon at T and smirked..he did grimace a little as an expanding spot of red under his arm was starting to appear. She'd hit something, but it definitely wasn't what it was supposed to be. "Heh...lets see how well you run NOW!" He pulled the trigger and....nothing. There was a moment of silence as it seemed the weapon wasn't going to discharge before there was a high-pitched whine. It...this...There was a bright flash and T felt something hit her hard enough to knock her back and there was a slight pain in her chest. The light had been bright enough that she couldn't see anything but the spots in her eyes.

The Pulse-lights flashed in time with the music; the jazz-tribal fusion band filled the room with sound, the saxophone snaking along with her torso, the tribal drums the beating of her heart. For a moment, everything was perfect...

Lips on hers, fingers along her body; she wants to cry out, no, stop, but her body won't respond, she's trapped in the dark, war drums still raging...

T drops to a knee, gasping for breath, clinging tightly to her knife as she struggles to remain in the moment. Something, something important, she was.... the fight... she needed to get up...

CalamityJade

The light fades and she becomes more aware of what was around her. First there was a smell, something between burnt hair and cooked meats. Her body felt somewhat heavy, but she didn't feel any signs of being shot. Then there was the scene in front of her. There was a whimpering sound and she could see that Dergus was down and clutching something. Was that his wrist? Why was he...and then it really seemed to hit. His hand was gone, there were a few bones sticking out from his wrist, but they were partially blackened and the rest was gone.

His shirt had partially been burnt off, revealing some sort of black vest. It must have been what she'd hit the first time. He was bleeding quite a lot from his stump of a hand and didn't seem like he'd be fighting any time soon. The ground had scorch marks and bits of metal seemed to have made small craters all around her. Now...she really needed to think of a way out of here. ~W..what the hell happened?~ A thought that made sense to have, all things considered, but still odd in it's phrasing.

yamikuronue

Holy shit. His hand... his hand was GONE! T's stomach roils up, but she forces herself not to vomit, breathing rapidly through her nose. Fuck the toast -- she grabs her knife and her bear and stumbles to her feet, making a run for it.

CalamityJade

~He was trying to kill me. Probably serves him right.~ Which made sense. Dergus was a bully and a nasty piece of work. Even if he was homeless, he tried to make some sort of place where he was top dog.

yamikuronue

Not that she disagrees he deserved it, but still... As she runs blindly through the alleyways, trying to stay away from main roads, she wonders how the fuck things got this bad. Jesus, those were wrist bones!

CalamityJade

It was amazing SHE wasn't hurt, if that thing managed to take out Dergus's hand. And with all the running, she's a good deal away from where she'd started ~He tried to hurt you. He was a coward and should have...~ The thought trailed off for a few moments before there was another. ~Wait...where am I?~ Which was a very odd thought to have. The streets she'd been on for this long had to be familiar and she didn't wander into the Gold section of the city, right?

yamikuronue

Lost? No, she's on Temple Street. There's a bakery up ahead that often slips her buns at the end of the day. How could she be lost in her own city?

Am I losing my mind? she wonders, looking around and trying not to think about... whatever just happened back there.

CalamityJade

~Can't lose...what the hell?~ Alright, that thought was really odd. ~Where am I?!~ Well, if she IS insane, then it's rather...tame. Most of the Abandoned had issues. Some having lost their minds to the point of not recognizes anything. ~Who is this?~

yamikuronue

What... the hell is going on here? Is... is someone in my head? T had heard of people developing split personalities, but she wasn't sure that ever happened outside of cheap paperback novels...

CalamityJade

~Wait...you're head?! What do you mean 'your head'?! Who are you?!~ Alright, these thoughts are getting agitated and there's a good chance that she's either insane or they're coming from somewhere else.

yamikuronue

I'm T. Short for Trouble. Who are you?

CalamityJade

~T...I'm...ugh. Not sure...last thing I remember was waking up to some darkness..and what sort of name is Trouble?~ As the thoughts continued, they seemed to take on more of a...personality. Still, this has to be pretty damn weird. ~Then there was that asshole that attacked out...but I can't see anything anymore, so what happened?~
