Go Down

Hammer Sister

Rob has noted all this down, but none of it makes any sense.

Well, this just keeps getting weirder... There was no glass outside at all, just a handful of metal shards. And the blood. Maybe the glass-thing was actually a crystal of some description? To find out, I'll have to ask one of the two that were laying on the ground; clearly, this witness isn't going to be of any help here. There's no point trying to get to the one who's hand is missing; I've met enough resistance here, it'll only be worse at the hospital. But then that means I need to track the other one down, the one that fled. Hopefully this witness will be able to describe the one that fled sufficiently well...

And then the murders began.

CalamityJade

Of course they ask for a description, and it was a pretty bland one. Shorter than the guy that's missing a hand. Hair was fairly short and black. There was two things that seemed to stand out. One was that she also seemed homeless, considering her general state of appearance and that she had a long scar down one side of her face. So, as long as they found a homeless girl with black hair and a huge scar, they were likely not to bring in the wrong person.

Hammer Sister

That's a pretty generic descrip- wait... short black hair... scar...shit! That sounds like that girl who tried to steal my wallet!

Now he has a potential lead, Rob sneaks back outside; leaving the crime scene, he begins to plan his next move.

How the fuck am I going to find one homeless girl in this city?

And then the murders began.

CalamityJade

Well, she was last seen around here, so there was a place to start...not to mention it'd give him some distance from the sight, since she seemed to disappear from here. It was a small lead, but at least it was a lead he'd seen before.

Elsewhere, Erika's day couldn't have been better. The boss was out, so she didn't get hounded. No one seemed in a bad mood when she talked to them. And because of a little bet about someone working at the store being at the bazaar, she'd even won a free lunch. It's been possibly the best day...so it's odd when a man in a suit approaches her during her lunch. "Miss Stark?"

yamikuronue

Erika looks up from her deluxe Italian Submarine -- the thing had three meats! if she was going to win a free sandwich, she was going to pick the largest one on the menu, make it go as far as possible. "...Yes?"

CalamityJade

"Good afternoon. I'm an associate of Mr Harrox. I hope you won't mind me taking a small amount of your time?" He seemed a little nasally, but the smile was nice and Mr. Harrox had given her a pretty nice loan. "He had also wanted to touch base with you about how everything has been going."

yamikuronue

Erika's instantly suspicious. An associate? She doesn't know him, but he definitely seems to know her. "...have a seat," she says,  indicating the other side of the booth.

CalamityJade

He moved to take said seat, sliding the briefcase into the booth before doing so. "Mr. Harrox sends his apologies. He had pressing matters to attend to. Usually he prefers to meet with his clients in person." With that, he opens the briefcase and takes out a few papers. "Primarily he wanted gather information on your well-being and see if you are satisfied so far."

yamikuronue

Erika hesitates. "I suppose I'm doing fine."

CalamityJade

"Good. And you've noticed a rather large turn in your fate, yes?" Wait...what the hell was he talking about?

yamikuronue

She blinks. "Well, I.... I've been having a good day, if that's what you mean."

CalamityJade

"Oh, I assure you, there must have been more than simply a 'good day' to this. Had any fortunate choices in investments?" Wait...there WAS that raffle ticket...and she'd gotten those clothes at a pretty good time. The Bazaar had been fun and she hadn't been questioned long. It was like there WAS something different. "Granted, it should be a rather slow build-up, but never the less, it should be happening."

yamikuronue

"Um, I got a raffle ticket and so on.... is that... part of it?"

CalamityJade

"Well...why don't you check and see. They should have the prizes posted in today's paper." The man had a bit of a smile...almost like he could tell what was going on.

yamikuronue

Erika hesitates, then goes to buy a paper from the stand beside the front door of the sandwich shop, bringing it back to her booth.
