And more paths seem to cross. Well, at least one path seemed to cross many several times. Though with a city this big, it was surprising that there weren't more intersections and crossings of paths. Case in point, Nathaniel was still in the hospital and being looked over very carefully. He'd been told time and again that they were doing the best they could. Of course, it was only a day, so the somewhat constant barrage of encouragement was bound to be getting a little grating.

Oddly enough, it's the flowers from the Roidmet boy -- man -- that bolstered his spirits the most. He'd had patrons before, of course, but none so well off as this, and neither his current patron nor any of his prior ones had bothered to send anything to his hospital room.

At least, he hoped his current patron was still current...

He hadn't gotten word from his patron as of yet. Which was a little disheartening. Theodora Harris had taken quite a liking to Nathaniel after one of his performances...and 'enjoyed his company'. Of course, she paid for most everything that Nathaniel had been enjoying, but as no one had come in to kick him out or ask how he's paying for the stay, Nathaniel was in the clear for the time being.

Harriet was coming in to check on him, all smiles as usual. "How ya doin? Any more notes from admirers?"

"Scores," he says, gaily. Four could be considered a score, right? And even if she hand't sent flowers, Dora was sure to be paying the bill... "And yourself? Doing well I trust?"

"Well, right as I can be. Glad there weren't any new admissions while I was at home." she gave a bright smile as she went to look at his leg. "And good to know yer still looking right. Had one guy lose an arm from a bad stitch job. Let that guy go and he had a hell of a time getting another job stitching anything but buttons."

Nathaniel winces. "I'm very glad to have all four limbs, yes."

"Plus you have yer health." Harriet gave a bit of a smile as she moved around to the chart. "So, have any big plans for when ya get out of here?"

He shakes his head. "I suppose... I suppose I should check in with my patron."

[CalamityJade]

"Oh ho...someone sweet on you fer all that dancin you do? Guess that is somethin nice." Harriet gave a bit of a smile. "The doctor mentioned wanting you to start moving a bit." Which meant he'd be given one of those ghastly walking helpers.

Nathaniel nods, forcing his smile to stay in place. On the bright side, not stuck in place...

Harriet gave a bit of a laugh. "Come now, no need to be that put off. If ya keep one, they'll let ya decorate it however ya like. Once saw a lady doin that and had painted the thing bright blue with flowers on it. She was a bit of an odd one, but was glad to get out all the same."

Nathaniel gives a small sigh. "Harriet, you are a blessing." he says, his smile becoming more genuine. "A true blessing. But I'm afraid I'll never like being injured."

"Well of course not. Weird folk, the ones that like bein in here all the time. Some of them even find ways to get here. Never quite understood it, but I treat them all the same...well, except maybe a bit more iodine on cuts, but it's about all I can do." Harriet gave a bright smile. "Now then, who's this patron ya got? Anyone interestin?"

"Oh, Dora's a wonderful woman. Very kind, and attentive." He smiles, fondly, remembering her passion for his touch, and the ample gratitude she had heaped upon him in exchange.

"Aaahh. So do you have a thing for her? "
