Go Down

Vic gives an address across town, in a not-so-nice neighborhood. This turns out to be an apartment complex, complete with iron bars over the windows and litter on the street out front; Vic swerves around the dog feces and a couple used needles and heads confidently to one of the doors, making sure Tony follows since he needs to keep an eye on the older man.

The apartment is small, made smaller by the occupants: two older men, one seeming a few years older than Vic and the other a little older than him, play cards in the small living area, sitting on the floor rather than fight the sagging couch. There's a small table by the small kitchen, but it's covered right now with gun parts, so they can't exactly play there.

Both men look up as Vic enters, eyes fixing on Tony. Vic introduces them briefly: "Andrew and Gabe," he says, nodding to each one in turn. "Is Bill out?"

"Taking a nap," says Gabe, turning back to his cards.

Tony doesn't seem interested at all in the appartment or the contents. He does nod politely to the other men there and then he just leans on the wall next to the door in a manner that says "Don't worry, i'll be out of your hair soon enough don't worry."

"Seen last night's fight?" he asks by way of casual conversation "I was surprised Big Show made it to the second round."

yamikuronue

"Pfft. Mad Dog's a born loser," says Andrew, tossing a card down onto the table.

Vic darts into the back and returns a few moments later with a small, tattered backpack stuffed full of supplies. "Okay. We're good."

accalia

"Yeah, He is." Tony agrees as Vic returns "Ah, the was fast. Lead on then." Tony says, indicating Vic should lead him out of the apartment building.

yamikuronue

Vic nods, heading out of the cramped space and back onto the street. "Sorry," he says, awkwardly.

accalia

"no problem. Family is family." Tony replies, he's not bothered at all, it's a thing that happened "got what you needed?"

yamikuronue

Family? No, he was more worried about being embarrassingly poor. But family too, come to think of it. "Yes." he says, shaking his head a bit.

accalia

"Good. Let's go then." And with minutes Tony's driven them to a gym and parked the car. It's a small gym, but has plenty of space, is clean, and as Tony leads Vic into the men's changing room.... No privacy.

yamikuronue

Oh. Oh no. Oh fuck. He swerves, steering toward the bathroom. "Gotta piss," he says, bluntly.

accalia

Tony shrugs and starts changing as Vic dashes from the room.... that was odd. But whatever, when you have to go you don't got a choice.

yamikuronue

Okay. Okay. Breathe. He can change in here, in the stall -- he thinks, carefully locking himself in -- but then it'd look strange and suspicious. What was he wearing today? Boxers. Nice and loose over the belt. Okay. The napkin is clean enough, that's fine, and the boxers will help cover it, but... His chest isn't going to look normal. Can he turn his back on Tony? That's probably the best option. The guy was super unobservant anyway. He probably wouldn't notice. It's probably fine.

Probably.

He comes back out, his gym clothes still tucked under one arm. Okay. Let's do this.

accalia

Tony's fully changed when Vic returns. "If y'wanted privacy to change you could have said. They've got a single occupant room for the squeemish, 's the door between the changing rooms" Is Tony's only comment as he exits the changing room, heading towards the free weight section.

As Tony selects a couple of weights of dumbbells for his workout he makes an offer "Done this before? want pointers or you got this?"

yamikuronue

Vic changes quickly, his back to Tony, and pads after him, staring around at the weights. He's... seen people work out before. "I got this." he says, bravely, trying to lift a pair of dumbbells at random. And winces, putting it back. Jesus, how heavy was that?

accalia

Tony nods and let's Vic get on with it. if the kid doesn't want pointer he doesn't want pointers. Tony keeps an eye on Vic, just to make sure the kid's not hurting himself with his form. But beyond that.... Well Tony has his own routine to get through.

yamikuronue

Okay, the weights are on the side. Five pounds? ...Three pounds? Sure. Three pounds. That's totally the right weight. He awkwardly tries to do some bicep curls, trying to find the right method here.
