Go Down

yamikuronue

Giovanni nods, finally raising his glass to his lips. "Vic will accompany you until then," he says, just before he takes a sip.

Vic starts. Wait... The Boss wants him to tail this guy? For two days?! Uh oh.

accalia

"I'll get it in safely." Tony promises before getting up from the table, tiping his hat to Giovani and starting to walk out of the place mumbling to himself, the occasional word or phrase can be made out, such as "put piglet on ettercap st" and "Dice K gets the night off." In fact Tony is so distracted he bounces off one of the goons near the door without seeming to have noticed him at all.

yamikuronue

Crap, crap crap! Vic bolts after the guy, trying to keep the worry off his face as he paces just behind him. Shit. This is the worst possible time for this crap.

"Hey!" he calls, hoping to break the guy out of this fugue state as he tips his hat in apology to the bouncer.

accalia

"Hmm? Oh. Sorry." Tony says when Vic shouts for him "Hmm... C'n you drive?"

yamikuronue

"What? No. Listen, where are we going?" The kid's voice is high, dragging the estimate of his age down a few years -- not so young his voice hasn't broken, but still a tenor, giving him a more childish air.

accalia

Okay, that actually broke Tony out of the fugue state. He blinks at Vic before extending a hand to shake.

"Sorry about that. I get that way sometimes when i'm thinking. The name's Tony."

And then without waiting for Vic to introduce himself Tony continues

"You must be Vic, You got a nickname you prefer, or shall I stick with Vic?"

yamikuronue

Vic is a nickname, he thinks but doesn't say. "Vic is fine." He takes the hand, his grip firm but not the aggressive too-rough shake of someone with a chip on his shoulder.

accalia

Tony returns the shake with a firm grip of his own, a grip that says "I could grip a lot harder than this, but I like you so I won't."

"Right then, Vic it is. Well we're going into the precinct to rearrange the patrols for tomorrow so that no one's in the right place to notice the delivery. How are we bringing it in anyway? By land or water? Also, what hat size are you? If you're following me into the precinct we need an excuse and I assume you'd prefer to be a trainee than to be my nephew that i got to keep an eye on for his parents while they are out of town? Oh, we'll need a coat for you too if we're doing the trainee route, you'r about dressed right for the nephew option if you prefer."

Tony's speaking quickly now,  but at least the words are still clear.

yamikuronue

"Uh..." he says, sounding lost. Then he shakes his head and straightens his slouch a bit.

"The ship's out in the sound, we're meeting it just across the border into international waters. My hat size is 22 inches. I can do either story, I don't plan to talk much but the bossman'll be furious if I don't dog you."

accalia

"Coming in by the docks, that works. I'll have them focus on the roads for the stakeouts, try to catch the stuff that's being shipped out i'll say. Can't pull all the boat patrols in, but i can bring in all but one or two, and that should be easy enough to avoid, their routes are pretty predictable, and as long as we're not acting shifty they'll not stop us...  Best cover would be take a lobster boat out, and run the traps on the way back in. Gives a great excuse to be out there, and with the smell few of my men would want to stick around for a close examination of the boat if they do stop it. Can you set that up, or will we have to try something else? And if you're to dog me Nephew gives best cover, i'd have to send you out of my sight for minutes at a time if i was playing the trainee route."

Tony continues his manic ramble as he walks to his unmarked car and retrieves his sidearm, checking it carefully before holstering it again under his jacket.

"Right, ready to get going, or do you have anything to take care of here first?"

yamikuronue

Vic nods. "I'll want to send some word -- it works better if they catch someone, yeah? Maybe some of the guys can set a trap for... well, someone else."

"hmm. yeah that would at that. Can you get someone to get caught on North Albany Avenue on their way into town? That would be one of the roads i'd be placing  men at. If we can get some competition eliminated and send the impression that the land route is more active than sea that would help for future trips."

Kid's got a good mind, he'll go far... unless.... well best not think of that.

yamikuronue

Vic nods. "We'll stop at Big Tony's. He'll know where to send word."

Big Tony's? The deli was so stereotypical that it had been raided four times in a single month, but never a sign of anything crooked. Orders had come down from the top brass to leave Big Tony's alone, it was making the department look bad. And yet, apparently, it was part of the mob all along. Well how about that.

accalia

"Fine, While we're there i'll grab a sandwich. They do good sandwiches, and i could use some dinner before i go on shift tonight. Ride shotgun, we'll stop by my place to grab you a hat after, it's just on the way to the precinct anyway." Tony replies as he enters the car on the drivers side. "Oh, and hands to yourself, don't want to cause paperwork by pushing a button that shouldn't be pushed in there. I hate paperwork."

yamikuronue

Paperwork. Was this actually happening? Vic climbs into the car after Tony -- would he be known as Little Tony later? The old Little Tony died a year ago, but he's not very little. Well, maybe compared to Big Tony. Medium Tony? Nah, probably Cop Tony. -- and pulls the door shut, folding his hands nicely in his lap. After a moment, he spreads his knees a bit and moves his hands forward, letting them dangle more loosely.
