The Gig [Finished]

"It's a good thing you didn't." says Vic, trying to sound menacing.

[accalia]

"Good. Was fraid i'd lost it entirely. What did i say?" The menace goes completely over Vic's head.

[yamikuronue]

"So you're a nutter then?" asks Vic, with a frown.

[accalia]

"Oh very funny." Tony snaps "not a nutter, just someone who gets..... passionate about things. Things such as injustice and inequality"

Yeah, there's something personal attached to those words.... 'justice' and, 'equality' are really important to Tony.

[yamikuronue]

"Someone who rants and raves and dives into the ocean and can't remember what he said." The 'in other words, a nutter' is left unsaid but clear.

[accalia]

"I remember... I wanted to know... No, nevermind. You'll either find out or you won't. I'll deal with that if it happens." Tony says, standing once more and reaching for his discarded shoes and socks.

[yamikuronue]

Vic sighs. "If you can't handle this job..." he begins, slowly.

[accalia]

"The job? Ha. That's no problem, and even if it is, i'm the crazy bastard, right? you spin that and you're off the hook if this goes pancake shaped."

[yamikuronue]

"Or, you screw this up and we both get shot and fitted with cement shoes."

[accalia]

"Well there's nothing without some risks..." Tony says, standing up once more. "I need a drink.... Some days i hate myself for quitting that habit."

[yamikuronue]

"There's everything wrong with risks. You take risks, you get caught, you die."

[accalia]

"Gambling's a risk and it's good, but working's a risk and it's bad.... Yeah we'll be a good pair. ... Where did i park again? Oh right, the gym. Well that's a bit of a walk from here." Tony starts walking, heading back towards town.

[yamikuronue]

"Gambling's not risky, not really. You plan to lose. If you don't prove you have the stones, you won't get anywhere. But you don't play with the Family. They'll kill you dead, or worse."

[accalia]

"Dead is dead. can't get worse than that." Tony's got a simple world view in that regard.

[yamikuronue]

"Can." insists Vic. "Or else nobody'd ever off themselves."
