The Gig [Finished]

[accalia]

"I know death." Tony states "I have met those that revel in it, they are murderers. They are to be reviled. You are not that."

[yamikuronue]

"A killer, then."

[accalia]

"In good company then." Tony replies "There are good reasons to kill, and bad ones, and of course there is the weight of guilt to carry regardless of the reason." The light in Tony's eyes makes it clear he's speaking from experience.

[yamikuronue]

"Yeah?" says Vic, a little roughly. "How's 'because the boss said to' go?"

[accalia]

"That's for you to decide." For a Cop, even a bent one, Tony has an odd sense of ethics.

[yamikuronue]

"Some cop you are," says Vic.

[accalia]

"Not on duty. I'm allowed to be not-a-cop when i'm not on duty." Tony replies smartly "Or would you prefer i arrest you and turn you in for murder?" Tony's plainly joking, but... what?!

[yamikuronue]

Vic duck his head. "Not me," he points out, sullenly. "Just folks I know."

[accalia]

"Then why would you being a murderer have been a problem?"

[yamikuronue]

"I'm just saying, you don't know what I might've done, is all. What if you regret it?"

[accalia]

"Have you done something that I should regret?" Tony asks, though clearly he believes that Vic couldn't have done such a thing.

[yamikuronue]

"No... yes... I don't know." Vic shakes his head in frustration. "You don't make sense! You act like you're crooked, but you won't do crooked stuff. You act like you're a hero, but you say you're only a cop on duty. I don't know what you'd regret!"

[accalia]

Tony smiles "Well then, isn't it a good thing that you'll be able to figure that sort of thing out now?"

[yamikuronue]

Vic stares at him openly, then slowly covers his face with his hands. "I don't think I should do any more experimenting." he mumbles.

[accalia]

"Whyever would you say that?" Tony's confused again. he's sure that something's bugging Vic about it but he's not sure what.
