The Gig [Finished]

"They got a few knocks in before I got away. I twisted my ankle while running, though."

[accalia]

"Well, you'll be sporting a shiner tomorrow that's for sure." Tony comments, handing the towel to Vic, it feels odd.... there's a bag of frozen peas in here? what? "Hold that to your eye, it will help with the swelling."

[yamikuronue]

Vic presses the bag to his eye, dutifully, avoiding crying out. "Yeah." he agrees. "Sorry." I guess that also ruins any feminine charm I might have had.

[accalia]

"It'll heal quickly enough. Nothing permanent." Tony assures Vic, trying to be soothing. It doesn't take long for him to touch up the scrapes and bandage the ones that need it.

[yamikuronue]

I guess I must be a man, thinks Vic to himself, as he realizes he doesn't much care if it spoils his looks. Fighting, not caring how my face is marked... women don't do those things.

[accalia]

"Right. that should cover that. You should stay off that ankle as much as possible for a few hours, but it shouldn't be too bad." Tony appraises Vic's condition carefully "As for that eye, the more you keep it cold now the faster the swelling will go down and the less of a shiner you'll show tomorrow. If the peas melt there's another bag in the freezer you can swap with."

Peas shouldn't melt. They're not liquids. thinks Vic to himself, but he doesn't comment.

"Okay. Sorry." he adds again.

[accalia]

Tony puts a hand under Vic's chin and lifts his head so that Tony can look directly into the still visible eye. "I see nothing here you need to apologize to me for. Don't blame yourself for the actions of others."

[yamikuronue]

"I shouldn't have" kissed you "come back," he finishes, with only a slight hitch as he course-corrects.

[accalia]

"and why not? This place is open to you, i made that quite clear i thought." Tony doesn't seem to notice the change in word choice, or he notices it and doesn't react to it. It's hard to say which one it is..

[yamikuronue]

"You must think I'm..." He gestures, a broad sweep of his hand indicating all the things he thinks but won't say.

[accalia]

"I think that you are exactly who you are. We've worked together for too long for a single day to change what i think of you." Tony replies, just as a voice inside his head screams at him 'Liar! All it took was a single kiss!'

[yamikuronue]

A single day? A single minute. Vic thinks, glumly. "Right. Right." he says, awkwardly. "So I guess, I'm going to pretend to be-- what was it, your nephew? I guess I'll need a new name. Maybe cut my hair short?"

[accalia]

"Well, if you want, I don't think you need to bother with that for the office." Tony comments "They already think we're related. But i suppose if you wanted to.... did you have a name in mind?"

Tony's voice indicates that he thinks the name change is a bad idea, but as usual he's not going to stop Vic if it's what Vic wants.

Vic shrugs. "I don't think it really matters." He sighs, moving to take a seat. "I suppose I'd better stay indoors mostly anyway."
