The Gig [Finished]

Giovanni nods. "Rick, Alex, please leave us."

The two guards exchange a glance, then step out of the room into the hallway. The door swings shut behind them, offering a modicum of privacy -- but as there's no other exit, it's not as though he could escape if he somehow overpowered the boss.

[accalia]

looks at Giovanni, the door then stalks over to a corner as far from the door as he can manage and sits down on a box, offering another one for Giovanni to sit.

"Please, sit. You'll probably want to be sitting when i tell you this."

[yamikuronue]

Giovanni raises an eyebrow. "I prefer to stand."

[accalia]

"You won't make this easy for me, will you?" Tony grumbles "So, correct me if i'm wrong but the core of the problem is that Vic is accused of... threatening acts of a definitely masculine nature against your daughter?"

No sense beating about the bush here.... if this is going to be his end make it fast.

[yamikuronue]

"I believe that sums it up," he says, watching Tony's face closely.

[accalia]

"Yeah, there's no way Victoria could have followed through on any of those threats."

and here we go.........

[yamikuronue]

"Victoria?" he says, slowly.

[accalia]

"Indeed." Tony agrees "Victoria. She. Not one who could have followed up on those threats, if she made them at all in the first place."

[yamikuronue]

"I assume you have proof of this?"

[accalia]

"I do, yes." Tony says, offering the photo album for review, open to a later page so Vic is more easily seen in the more recent photos.

[yamikuronue]

Giovanni takes the album, turning through the pages in contemplation. There aren't photos of Vic, but there are clearly his brothers, and Victoria looks, in the later ones, recognizable, if young. In the photos also is a man Tony has never met -- clearly their father, now absent. It seems they were happy, in these photos. Children, playing and laughing in black and white stills: three boys and a girl, radiant and glorious and often covered in mud.

Tony's stomach falls as he sees the photos.... Yeah, Victoria is recognizable, but the appearance is not that close..... oh god.... he's going to have to use Plan B.....

[yamikuronue]

After a long moment, Giovanni suddanly... laughs? It's a strange laugh -- not entirely joyful, but not menacing either.

"Well. This is certainly an unexpected tactic."

[accalia]

"The truth often is." Tony comments nervously "Is it sufficient, or will I have to offer more?"

[yamikuronue]

Giovanni shakes his head. "Who would have thought, a woman? So ruthless. It's unexpected." He sounds almost impressed.
