The Gig [Finished]

"She's FAMILY. Won't abandon family."

[yamikuronue]

"You can't force your love on someone, Tony. If she doesn't want you, there's not a lot you can do." Sanders' voice is gentle, with a hint of mothering around the edges of it.

[accalia]

Tony glares pointedly at Sanders "You try to mother me and I'll lay you out flat on the floor. She tells me to leave herself that's one thing, but she ran away in the night. That means I follow. Where. Is. The. Phone?"

[yamikuronue]

"You were unconscious. She couldn't have told you." Sanders sighs. "I'm not giving you a phone. Who are you even calling? I can talk to this Kate woman if you want."

[accalia]

"Kate." Tony confirms. "She's my desk secretary at the precinct. Call her. Tell her everything. She's trustworthy, she'll be discrete and she'll know what to do. If she tells you to do anything consider the order as coming from my own mouth."

That's a lot of trust that Tony places in Kate.

[yamikuronue]

Sanders nods. "Okay." He pauses, then adds, "Tim doesn't know about you. Or me." Then he stands from his squat, leaving Tony on the couch he's stretched out on as he heads for the phone in the other room.

[accalia]

Tony falls back on the couch... why must things be this complicated? Sanders..... huh... well he at least got the message eventually... good. he wasn't sure he could have kept up the bluff much longer. how long had he been out? Two days? Vic didn't drive.... at least Tony didn't think he drove.... so that means he, or she, shouldn't have been able to get that far... right?

[yamikuronue]

Sanders comes back a few minutes later, nodding. "Right. I talked to Kate, turns out the kid stopped by this morning. Said she was leaving a letter at your place, to say goodbye."

[accalia]

Tony bolts upright at that, causing a short cry of pain. "I need to get home then. Now."

[yamikuronue]

Sanders sighs. "If the doc says--"

Tim comes back, alone, his hands spread wide. "Doc's been called off to an emergency. The nurse said keep him quiet until the doc gets back."

[accalia]

"No time." Tony snaps. "I need to get to her while I can. Doc patched me up once, he can do it again if needed, this is more important than that."

[yamikuronue]

"Than your life, if you bleed out?" asks Sanders quietly.

Tim rolls his eyes, throwing up his hands in exasperation. "Whatever. He's crazy, I've seen him."

[accalia]

"Yes. More important than my life." Tony confirms being completely honest "Take me to her. Please."

[yamikuronue]

Sanders sighs, grabbing a coat from a hook near the door. "Fine. But if you overdo it, I'm taking you to Doc, got it?"

[accalia]

"Fine, but after I see her." Tony agrees, trying to stand, and needing to grab Tim's shoulder to manage the feat.
