Tethras Clan

Right. Well, any is better than none, in luck, coin and ideas. Finishing up, he thinks 'loudly. ~Experiment time. See if you can take control back,~ he sends to Carver, intending to try and hold for a few seconds at most, then give up if it doesn't look like Carver can do so without his permission. Should make him feel better at the least.

Carver Amell

There's a feeling suddenly as if he's being assaulted -- as if he's being crushed, blunt force against the sides of his head. Then there's a pop, and he's back in the 'backseat', disconnected from the body and disoriented.

Tethras Clan

~...okay, ow. Definitely not going to test that again,~ Varric mutters. ~Good news, you can kick me out whenever you want. On that subject, do me a favor and ask and I'll step back if we have to do that again. That actually hurt.~
<e> Honesty. Openness. Trust. <dw>Stabbed in the gut! With a sword!

Carver Amell

What, really? I can hurt you? For a moment he seems almost pleased, then he seems to shake it off. Alright. So that's tied. What now?

Tethras Clan

~Slight headache, already faded, but yeah. If I try and hold on after you recover, you pushing me out feels like... well, like a headache. That vise on your temples feeling,~ Varric explains, understanding why that would be reassuring. ~Anyway, the crack is about three feet in front of you. Best to crawl, not walk though. Tripping would hurt like a bitch.~

Carver gets on his hands and knees, crawling forward. When he finds the opening, he blanches, an odd feeling from the inside. No way. There's no way I can fit in this tiny little crack. Are you kidding me? My head's bigger than this.

Tethras Clan

~Alright, we have two other options,~ Varric says easily. ~One, you can tunnel through the walls. Or meld into the stone, that would work too. Two, you can slowly, painfully, die from thirst, then rise as some kind of undead. Still be stuck here, I'd wager though.~

After waiting a beat, he adds, ~go feet first. Gives you a chance to probe around. It's bigger than you think.~

Carver Amell

I'm going to die here. I'm going to fucking die in this fucking hole because of my fucking sister. While he bitches, his bitter rant seems to take the edge off his rising panic; he turns, sitting on the floor and probing the hole with his feet. I'm going to get stuck in this hole and piss myself and die in horribly embarrassing circumstances with my sister's father laughing at me the whole damn time.

Tethras Clan

~Do you honestly think I care one whit about that? If you die, I'm damned. Literally. The best outcome for me after that is becoming some mindless slave of the lich. The best outcome,~ Varric snaps.
<e> Honesty. Openness. Trust. <dw>Stabbed in the gut! With a sword!

Carver Amell

What do you mean, literally damned? Are you -- did you trade your chance at an afterlife for this? To stop her? Carver's mental voice holds trepidation, but also a little bit of awe. He scoots forward, his feet pressing against the edges of the crack. There's no damn way. Oh, shit, my sword, it's going to catch. He unbuckles the back sheath, trying to picture how to tie it to his body so it won't be in the way.

Tethras Clan

~...not... quite. I still have a chance, it's just..  well, the odds are a lot lower. Hold it, don't tie it. Hopefully there won't be a place too bendy for it but you might have to leave it,~ he says soberly.

Carver pauses for a moment, letting sorrow fill him. Then he sighs. No. It's not worth my life. He lays the sword gingerly on the ground beside him. Farewell, trusty sword. You never let me down.

Before he can think too hard about it, he scoots further into the hole, his feet probing for purchase.

Tethras Clan

~What? No, try and bring it with you. Don't give up more than you need to until you need to,~ Varric says with a groan. Teenagers.
<e> Honesty. Openness. Trust. <dw>Stabbed in the gut! With a sword!

Carver Amell

Can you not feel how small this hole is? There's no way. I'd need to hold it above my head and lose all leverage. Still, he pictures it, wondering if that might make his shoulders a little narrower.

Tethras Clan

~Please, you're a skinny little human, you'll be fine,~ probably. ~Worst case, you ditch it later on. Actually... don't suppose you happen to have any yarn or tough thread on you?~
