Under Darkness [AU]

[Tethras Clan]

"I mean... I know it's possible?" Andy says, fighting back a smile. "I've seen druids do it for sure. And we're heading to a druid town, right? You mentioned that before, that it's some nature deity temple or something?"

[Carver Amell]

"Not a temple, a whole village dedicated to a single, incarnate deity." He keeps stroking Hunter's back. "Maybe... maybe this will be good for us both." 

[Tethras Clan]

"...a deity," Andy croaks. "Ummm, what, uh, what kind of deity?" he asks nervously.

[Carver Amell]

"A tree god," he says, focusing on Hunter. "Very nature."

[Tethras Clan]

"Nature. Nature could be... okay. Nature's fine," Andy tells himself as he watches Hunter gently lick and nibble on Carver's arm.

[Carver Amell]

"It's said to be a good place to be healed, restored," he adds, refusing to look at Andy. Guess he was pretty out of it when I said this before.

[Tethras Clan]

"I... well, I can't deny needing a bit of both of those," Andy allows.

[Carver Amell]

"Thought you might," he says gruffly. "They say it's doing wonders for my sister."

[Tethras Clan]

"Right. And now it'll be good for you and Hunter too," Andy points out, rather interested in not thinking about himself or his problems for a bit.

[Carver Amell]

"We'll see," he says gruffly. 

[Tethras Clan]

Andy frowns. "No, really. You should make sure to get some instruction. Untrained magic is like having a naked sword glued to your hand."

[Carver Amell]

"Well, yeah, I'm definitely going to ask, I just meant... there could be another explanation."

[Tethras Clan]

"Right, I suppose you could... have some form of lycanthropy. But one you can control instinctively. Or maybe someone slipped you a very complex magical item," Andy says agreeable, a somewhat hidden teasing smile on his lips. "Oh! Perhaps Hunter is actually an avatar of Uyrll and this is Her gift for all the tibbits you sneak him during meals."

Hunter chuffles softly, ears perking at his name.

[Carver Amell]

"You're funny," he deadpans. "When did you get funny?"

[Tethras Clan]

"Since you beat me sober," Andy says in a forced tone of cheer. "This is Andy that's trying again. It comes with sarcasm and... sly japes." he finishes a trifle lamely. "Sometimes."
