"Like I said. You never owed me anything."

"And she was mine, so what she owes, I owe. I convinced her to get herself free. She argued for days about it. Still hasn't given up on it. Before Mori, I mean. But it was so damn easy to cast you as the villain because we never saw Leandra," he explains. "Hawke was still a child really. Might have come of age, but she was still growing up in a lot of ways that matter."

[Carver Amell]

He lets out a long, slow sigh. "I always thought I'd hate you," he admits. "Hearing it from your own lips that you broke up my family... but I can't. Your Clan -- our Clan -- is better, by far, than that house ever was."

[Tethras Clan]

Varric nods. "I... yeah. Even now, I don't regret taking Hawke from there. What I regret is not taking you too."

[Carver Amell]

Carver smiles -- actually smiles, a shy, warm smile that looks oh so familiar. "Thanks," he says, finally. 

[Tethras Clan]

Varric coughs lightly. "Right, anyway, enough of that. You need to talk with Zevran," he says a little gruffly. "We can swing by the cafe, they'll probably still be there, and I can help you peel him off as I gather you'd prefer to have that talk not in front of your sister."

[Carver Amell]

"Gods, of course." He nods. "No way I want to stress her out with my stupid shit."

[Tethras Clan]

"You kidding? I think she'd be thrilled to hear you're thinking about romance," Varric says with a smile. "All about love and romance our Hawke."

[Carver Amell]

He shakes his head. "Best not to talk about the gay thing."

[Tethras Clan]

"...not talk about the gay thing with your bisexual with a strong preference for woman sister?" Varric points out. "She really, really won't mind if you're bisexual as well, I assure you."

[Carver Amell]

"If you didn't like my opinions..." He points out. 

[Tethras Clan]

"Well, yes, maybe not bring it up exactly the same way but... well, I have to assume you picked them up from somewhere and they don't seem fresh, so I suspect she's not unfamiliar with those sorts of opinions," Varric reasons. "The... religious culture in Golden Shores was... very conservative, very... restrictive, from what I've gathered."

"So I gather," he says, shrugging. 

[Tethras Clan]

"Well, I'd want to let you be the one to bring it up to her- or anyone else for that matter- anyway. I don't like talking about... this stuff in the first place," Varric says with a slight grimace. "Usually Hawke talks to Zevran or Seli about... sex, not me."

He makes a face. "I can see why." That said, he slides off the log to his feet. "I'll talk to him. Then I have to get back to Andy and Hunter."
