Go Down

GamesMaster

"Eh," he hedges. "Moving her is... complicated. Can I, if I tell you what's going on maybe I could sneak back medicine?"

Bethany

Bethany frowns, that being a not-uncommon ploy to get medicine that can have... other purposes. Or simply to get medicine for resale. On the other hand, sometimes it's the honest truth. "Maybe. Go ahead and describe what's wrong." In common, she murmurs to Anders and Merrill, "his sister is sick and can't be moved. He's telling me her symptoms now."

GamesMaster

"Ah, it's a little complicated, but, I suppose you're a [Bandanna] so..." He fidgets with his paws, clearly wrestling with how much to say -- giving her a good indication that "complicated" means "not for humans". Even Don has things he doesn't say to her, things he implies without saying are only for the Tribe to know; Bandanna or not, she's not Tribe and can never be thanks to her lack of fur. Friends, yes, but not kin, not Tribe.

"My sister was... ah... punished. Shamed, for bringing dishonor on the Tribe. But, her wounds, they don't smell so good, and she is weak still, even a week later. She has stopped taking milk, and she is hot to the touch. There is medicine that can help, yes? I cannot bring her a healer, you understand, she brought dishonor, but medicine? When no-one is looking?" He fidgets, looking away, clearly embarrassed or ashamed to be asking this. "It's just, she's my sister..."

Bethany

"Kin is kin. Shamed her kin, but still your kin," Bethany says firmly, nodding at him. Her eyes are warm and soft, encouraging. Punished... "What... what kind of punishment? Where, on her body? And... how bad?"

GamesMaster

"Ah..." he begins, whiskers twitching. "Here," he suggests, touching his stomach briefly. "and, [declawed]." The word is Common, which is strange when they're talking about something the Tribe did. "All stitched up, bleeding stopped, but there is a, an oozing."

Bethany

Her stomach? Why..? " The belly wounds- how deep? Just fur? Or deeper, into... guts?"

GamesMaster

"Ah, into her guts, there was... we had a healer do it," he admits. "Not here. Cheaper."

Bethany

Beth hisses slightly, the sound that of sympathetic pain, not anger- not yet, anyway. She's focusing very hard on the healing, on helping, and trying to ignore the why and how of the injuries. Looking at Anders, she reports, "sounds like a bad infection. Deep too. She was declawed, but the real problem is some kind of surgery in her gut. It's either infected or septic."

GamesMaster

Anders frowns. "Is he refusing to let us into Cattown to see her? I can offer some antibiotics for the moment, to see if that helps, but a proper healing would be preferred in this case."

Bethany

Beth shakes her head. "He's not even supposed to be getting her this much help. Evidently, she..." Bethany sighs. "Catfolk have learned a long time ago that letting outsiders in only causes more trouble for them. If the antibiotics can get her healthy enough to be mobile, maybe she can get here for real help.

Tethras Clan

"Maybe we could sneak in?" Merrill asks, then perks up. "Oh! Oh! Chirples could do it!"
<e> Honesty. Openness. Trust. <dw>Stabbed in the gut! With a sword!

GamesMaster

Anders frowns. "I could put some feelers out, see if I can find a catfolk helper who will do a checkup and let me know the results..."

But the grey-furred catfolk looks alarmed. "No!" he says, in Common. "No cat-cat. No tell cat-cat."

Bethany

"..Chriples could do it?" Bethany repeats, staring at Merrill.

Tethras Clan

The elf nods vigorously. "I could give him my Cure Disease spell. Mister Cat-Cat would just have to take Chirples to his sister without touching him."

<e> Honesty. Openness. Trust. <dw>Stabbed in the gut! With a sword!

Bethany

Bethany blinks a few times. "That... could work, actually." Turning back to Juniper, she asks, "is your sister alone most of the time? And does she have a room with a window or some kind of access to outside?"
