Imprints in Stone [AU]

[Carver Amell]

"Magic, what else," he growls, narrowing his eyes. 

[Andy za'Frane]

"That's... Can you be more specific," Andy asks evenly. "I don't mean to be insulting, but that's like saying 'a person' when asked if you know who did it."

[Carver Amell]

"Don't you know the stories? Golden Shores has been through this before. Witches, summoning demons, nearly burnt us down. They must have returned."

[Andy za'Frane]

"I'm afraid I'm not familiar with the history of your town, no," the guard explains diplomatically. "But I'll note that down as a possible lead."

[Carver Amell]

"Great. Are we done?"

[Bethany]

"Umm, is... is there somewhere we could... find out if anyone else..?" Bethany's voice falters, fades. 

[Andy za'Frane]

"Of course miss. You can wait here for your companion to be finished with his own interview or I can take you both to the Still Waters of Hope temple- that's the Bastion temple that coordinates disaster relief here in Nyra," Andy says gently.

[Carver Amell]

"We'll wait for Mother and Varric," says Carver firmly. 

[Andy za'Frane]

Mother? Oh good. At least they're not alone. That... that'll help, I hope. "Alright. I'll show you both to the waiting room and... have you had supper? I can send for food while you wait," he offers.

[Bethany]

Before Carver can reply, likely to turn down the offer, Bethany's stomach gurgles like some kind of theatre play. The young woman blushes furiously and ducks a bit more behind Carver, hiding her face with a hand.

[Carver Amell]

Carver glances back at his sister, frowning. He hasn't tried to attack us or anything yet... "....fine. Food would be fine."

[Andy za'Frane]

"I'll show you to where you can wait now then," the tiefling says gently, offering a lopsided smile. And send word to Seli to bring something down. Barracks chow isn't what they deserve after what they went through. Plus, that'll give Seli a chance to talk with them and see if they need anything. 

[Bethany]

"Do... do you know how long..?" 

[Andy za'Frane]

"Ah, well, it sounds like your friend Tethras was involved in the retaking of the village, so they'll likely have a lot more questions for him, but I suspect it shouldn't be more than an hour at most," the recruit replies after a moment's thought. "If it goes longer, we have cots to rest, showers and so forth."

[Carver Amell]

Cots. Showers. How long does he plan to hold us? Well, if it's longer than an hour we'll leave. I can look after Bethany for a while if need be. Carver nods, moving toward Andy. "Thanks," he grunts.
