Carver Amell

Marian Hawke

"Guessing. He means he wants the whole story and not just his guesses."
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Carver Amell

"Well why not say that?"

Marian Hawke

"Just tell the story, dumbass."
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Carver Amell

Carver scowls. "Just because I don't get perfect grades like you, miss goody two shoes--"

Marian Hawke

"Are you going to tell me or not?" snaps Marian.
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Carver Amell

Carver rolls his eyes. "Fine, fine. I broke his window. We're doing a barter or whatever. Happy?"

Marian Hawke

Marian groans, rubbing at her temple. "Mother's going to kill you."
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Carver Amell

"No, she ain't, because she's not going to find out!"

Varric

Actually, I know the story, the point you finding out what the story is from someone other than me. "Near as I can tell, it wasn't just him. Few other kids are involved, but Carver just mutters under his breath about stitches and snitches whenever that comes up. Peer pressure's an ugly thing."

Marian Hawke

"Well yeah. The last thing he needs is a reputation." Marian sighs, then turns to Varric. "Is this really okay? You're not going to turn around and ask for gold?"
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Varric

"Sure, but you are planning on making them pay you back somehow, right? You're doing them all a favor, taking the hit yourself so..." Varric frowns. Not my problem, sure, but the... sloppiness offends me.

Carver Amell

"Why would I do that?" Carver demands. "They're my friends. They wouldn't snitch on me, so I don't snitch on them."

Varric

"Really? Not much loyalty in them, to let you take all the blame without a second thought. Have any of them even thought to thank you for it?" Varric asks idly.

Carver Amell

"I was stupid enough not to run, it's my fault," he points out.
