Imprints in Stone [AU]

[Bethany]

"Oh. That's... kind of sad. I mean- I didn't mean to insult you or anything, I just meant-" Bethany winces. "Everyone deserves to know and like hugs, I guess."

[Helene Dakesh]

Helene bows their head. "Understood. This one... this one has very few friends. This one appreciates your concern."

[Bethany]

"Well, you have three at least, so that's not so very few, right?" Bethany says stoutly, looking at Carver expectantly. 

[Carver Amell]

Carver nods. "Sure, yes, we're all friends here."

[Helene Dakesh]

Helene's cheeks darken, and then nod. "Thank you. If you have need of oracular services, please come to me. I will not charge you."

[Bethany]

Orarcular? A sudden thought strikes Bethany and she looks over at Carver, eyes questioning. Mouthing 'Niko' at him, she cocks her head.

[Carver Amell]

Carver nods. "Can you, uh, find people? It's just, one of my buddies hasn't been around for a bit, we're uh, hoping he's just distracted with a new job or whatever..."

[Helene Dakesh]

Helene nods. "This one can. This one can ask questions of the gods, and this one can scry if need be. Please supply a piece of the missing person, or if that is not possible, a personal belonging or image of the person."

[Bethany]

"Can... we don't have any of that right now but... can you do the question thing? Just... see if he needs helps?"

[Helene Dakesh]

Helene nods. "This one can cast the bones, asking advice on a specific course of action. This one can also cast a Divination, requesting answers of the gods, but it can be less clear on what precisely is to be done."

[Bethany]

Bethany nods slowly. "Niko went missing three nights ago while, uh, working. So... how should we ask... I mean, how does..."

[Varric]

"How many times can you cast the bones?" Varric asks, his puzzling face on.

[Helene Dakesh]

"Eight in one day. This one is unlikely to get answers about events taking place further than an hour from now when casting the bones. This one suspects a Divination may be required, and the bones used to refine a course of action based on the results of such."

[Varric]

"Ah. Sounds about right, yeah... Hmmm.... How about... What kind of plan should we undertake in order to assist Niko with acceptable risk to ourselves?" Varric proposes.

[Carver Amell]

Carver blinks. "Not, where is Niko?"
