Go Down

GamesMaster

She growls again. "I know you're not stupid. And you know I can keep you here all night if I have to. So if you don't feel talkative, we'll just sit here and stare at each other until morning."

Varric

Varric beams at her. "Why didn't you say so earlier!" He shifts slightly so she can see more of his left side. "This is my good side, figured I'd treat ya," he whispers, then stares at her intently.

GamesMaster

She's THIS CLOSE to wolfing out by the time one of her Privates knocks on the door. With another frustrated growl, she turns and yanks it open, barking, "What?"

He blinks at her. "Uh. There's a girl out front with a big dog and a body. She says it's about this case."

Varric

Beth, I swear to the gods, if you killed (maybe just unconcious?) that idiot catfolk boy to get me out of here... "Well, that seems important," Varric says brightly.

GamesMaster

"Stay," she snaps, jabbing a finger at him. She moves the finger almost instantly to jab at the man. "Guard." Then she blows past him, slamming the door behind her.

The guard blinks at the closed door, frozen for a moment, before whistling. "You really must have pissed her off," he says, cheerfully. "She usually stays away from the canine commands."

Varric

"Yeah, she's a charmer. Still, I suppose we should probably listen to her, right?" Varric says easily, rising to his feet. "Not sure why she didn't walk with us but... eh, probably overwhelmed by the chest hair," he says with a laugh and a wink. "Happens to a lot of ladies. And her, evidently. Suppose you're going to have to lock my hands again before we go?" he adds with a sigh, crossing them behind his back as he approaches the guard.

GamesMaster

He blinks. "Oh no. I'm not taking you out of this room until she gives the order. I definitely don't want to be on Wy-- Lowell's bad side," he adds, crossing his arms and leaning against the door. "So, I'm afraid if you've got a hot date, you're going to have to be late," he adds with a wink.

Varric

"...she just did?" Varric says slowly, staring at the guard as if confused by why the guard is confused. The dwarf points at himself, "follow" then at the guard, "guard. I mean, she might have gotten them mixed up but I rather doubt she wanted me to guard something."

GamesMaster

He frowns, puzzling it over. "I'm pretty sure she said stay, but then again, there was some astounding chest hair distracting me..."

A few minutes later, they're heading toward the front -- right toward Wylde and Beth, who are heading back to one of the other interrogation rooms. "Why are you -- I didn't say to release him!" she snaps.

Varric

Varric quickly shakes his hands, causing a metallic clanking noise. "Hey, he was just doing what you said! You told him to guard, and he is- even remembered to chain my hands again." A little too eagerly at that... He'd say more, but it's hard to charm and bamboozle with a woman sobbing into his chest. "Hey, hey, it's alright. I'm fine, you're fine... Sunshine alright?"

GamesMaster

The corporal gives him a suffering glare. "Fine. You go help Smithers wake the suspect up. I'm walking these two back to the interrogation room."

Which she does, though not without difficulty. Thankfully, she unchains him when they're there, letting him hold Beth back.

Bethany

Beth is practically curled against his side, still trembling. "Merri's at home with Ari," she mumbles into his chest. "Nothing that won't heal."

Varric

Thank the Bright Gods. "Good to hear, daughter mine," he murmurs back, stroking her hair.

GamesMaster

Daughter, huh? notes Lowell. "I don't suppose you're any more willing to give a statement than your father was, young lady?" she asks, trying to bench her frustration. The girl didn't do anything wrong yet. Better to get off on the right food. Bright gods, I want a run right now. Or a big, juicy steak.

Bethany

"Anders is a backstabbing, lying asshole," Bethany growls, the sound more feline than canine.
