[Jassinth]

Without a word, Jass rises to his feet, heading for the backdoor.

[Marian Hawke]

Li flinches, dropping her quill as her eyes snap to the floor.

[Carver Amell]

Carver jumps to his feet. "Hey! Don't insult my... Jass!"

[Bethany]

Bethany checks herself. "Carver, follow Jass, ask him to return." Lifting herself up, she curls on the sofa next to Liz. "Hey, sorry for snapping. Talk to me?"

[Carver Amell]

Carver plunges after Jass, dropping his quill as he goes. "Hey, wait up!"

[Marian Hawke]

Liz slides from the couch, burying her face in her hands. 

[Bethany]

Beth goes with her, arms circling around her sibling. "Hey, hey," she croons softly. "Liz, talk to me, please."

[Jassinth]

Carver catches up to Jass easily, as he's no further than the middle of the backyard. As Carver steps out into the yard, he's in time to see Arthur come down in front of Jass, wings flaring to dump speed and allow the merikos drow to catch him.

[Marian Hawke]

Liz whimpers, burying her face against her sister, shivering in her arms. "Sorry," she whispers. "I fucked it all up again."

[Carver Amell]

"Hey," says Carver, slowing. "What's wrong? You okay?"

[Bethany]

"...not your best moment, no." Beth presses a kiss to her temple. "Can you tell me what it was about?"

[Jassinth]

Jass tenses, then lets out a slow breath. "...yes. Of course. Why would I not? I was... merely.. checking on Arthur."

[Marian Hawke]

"I... I just.. I don't know what I said, I just... it's true," she whimpers. 

[Carver Amell]

Carver sighs. "Jass... Seriously. Why didn't you just sass her back?"

[Bethany]

Beth winces a little. "It... well, sort of. Jass is merikos drow, yes, but... that's not something you should throw in his face. He's probably gotten insulted and harrassed about it all his life."
