Shannon smiles, though inwardly a part of her rolls her eyes. Yes, thank you for telling me what your race is, I could simply not determine such on my own. "Well, la! As I said Liz, your family is safe at Crystalwing. All of them I hope?"

Miki hesitates, tail lashing. Safe is relative. "Most," he admits.

[Marian Hawke]

Liz stills, expression going hard. "Who's dead?" she asks, her voice hoarse.

[GamesMaster]

"...Gamlen," admits Miki, looking away. 

[Marian Hawke]

...who? Oh, Mother's twin? "Is that... all?" she asks, hesitantly.

[GamesMaster]

"Lots dead," snaps Miki, claws slipping out. "Lots hurt."

[Shannon zi'Marass]

Shannon shifts a little, drawing attention to herself. "Thank you for coming to find Liz. It means a great deal to all of us, you braving the streets to find her. I... take you lost more than a few friends and family in the troubles in Coalside?" Her voice is soft and gentle, a far cry from her normal brisk gaiety or lemonsweet humor.

Miki's tail lashes, but he calms a little. "My mother," he admits. 

[Marian Hawke]

"I'm so sorry," Liz replies, her tone softening.

[GamesMaster]

"Don hurt bad. Ric hurt bad. Lene. But Car and Beth and Miki all fine, hurt, but fine."

"Lene?" whispers Cindy. "Aveline?"

Miki shakes his head. "Helene."

Would she be alive if I had moved earlier, instead of focusing on finding Cindy? Who wasn't even in the city to find? Shannon frowns briefly, swiftly turning it into a look of compassion. Where did that come from? "My sadness for your loss," she says simply, avoiding the word condolences based on his apparent limited grasp on common.

"What's to be done?" asks Cindy, swallowing. "To fix things, to... to fight?"

Miki shakes his head. "Fight's done. Gathering, keeping safe."
