The Amell Legacy: Transgressions

Varric

"During," Varric replies promptly. "Start to let it slip but keep your mind blank until you finish. Let the matrix... fade into the dark blank. That can be very hard to do though, so if you're going to slip in other direction, better to hold it too long than too short."

Marian Hawke

She nods. "Okay. That makes sense. I did that once, but I wasn't sure if it was right. I oversaturated the base fluid, so it had, um, adverse effects when I drank it, but at least it did something."
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Varric

Oversaturated in a divination... Varric snickers a little. "Tripping your way over the Astral Rainbow is something alright," the dwarf says with amusement. "What did you eat during?"

Marian Hawke

She reddens a little further, but keeps pushing. "I only wish. I invented a whole new language, but I couldn't decipher my notes afterward. I took notes on the grammar in the language, you see."
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Varric

Varric eyes gleam intently. "Really?" he asks, tone far too casual. "You didn't happen to keep them, did you?"

Marian Hawke

"Of course I did," she says, a little indignant. "I keep everything."
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Varric

"Wouldn't mind taking a glance or ten over that," the dwarf says with a shrug.

Marian Hawke

"I suppose. But it's undecipherable." She shrugs. "Do you want me to get it now?"
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Varric

"Challenge. Fucking. Accept."

Marian Hawke

She lights up a bit, laughing as she grins. "Alright. Wait here."

Then she's off, leaving him and Helene alone for a moment.
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Helene Dakesh

"You are good for her," says Helene, voice soft, in a rare use of second-person.
"Explain. In detail, please and thank you."

Varric

"Of course," he says with a grin. "I'm good for everyone. If only there were more of me... well, the heavens would be redundant."

Helene Dakesh

Helene smiles, a shy, broad smile, which ne hides behind nir sketchbook almost immediately. "This one never knew what to provide. You have a better handle on it. This one is glad."
"Explain. In detail, please and thank you."

Varric

Ne has a really nice smile (shame ne doesn't use it more often). "You laid a better foundation than you give yourself credit for. Especially given that the... pre-foundation was rather deliberately sabotaged."

Helene Dakesh

Helene nods. "This one was adequate at teaching the practical aspects, but this one.."

Ne trails off, then, as Marian bursts back into the kitchen, full of life and carrying a sketchbook much like Helene's own.
"Explain. In detail, please and thank you."
