The Amell Legacy: Transgressions

Go Down

Haliel Lightsong

"Thank you for your hospitality," Lightsong says with a smile, reminding herself to not beg off the food. Having to eat is so weird. I can't wait until we get to sunlight again. Following Marian inside, she looks around. "You have a lovely home."
I am the Light of My Soul.

Tanna

Tanna takes the praise with a smile and gets them settled in with tea and some cookies. "I've been looking forward to meeting you, what with how Marian's praised your... open mindedness and tolerance. So many people limit their kindness and care for those that agree with them," she comments, draping herself across Marian's lap familiarly, her head almost on the other aasimar's thigh and one hand taking a hold of one of Marian's.

Haliel Lightsong

Lightsong blushes faintly, though whether it's at the praise or Tanna's actions is hard to judge. "Thank you," she murmurs. "I think it's important to try and understand those that are different, not judge them. You cannot help others without understanding their perspective and troubles."
I am the Light of My Soul.

Marian Hawke

Under Tanna, Marian flinches slightly -- not at the touch, but at the reminder of her and Lightsong's stormy past, at how they've fought. At how even now, Lightsong doesn't really understand all of her, probably can't accept some of it.

(Dark eyes full of anger, an accusation, giving way slowly to hopelessness, to despair)

"Yes, she's lovely, our Lightsong," says Marian, trying to keep cheerful, keep her head above the sudden undertow. "Full of mercy and second chances. I'm very lucky to have met her."
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Haliel Lightsong

"No more than I you," Lightsong says firmly, reaching around Tanna to rest a hand on Marian's arm. "Who else would have taught me to make bread?"
I am the Light of My Soul.

Tanna

Make bread? What? That's inane... is that some kind of sex slang or something? "Awwe," Tanna coos. "You two are adorable."

Marian Hawke

"Th-thanks," says Marian, blushing faintly. "um, oh, Lightsong, how is your painting coming along?"
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Tanna

Haliel smiles wanly, a bit saddened by the lukewarm response but accepts the change of topic. She talks about her new hobby, though she doesn't explain the reason behind it aside from a vague mention of 'being a bit inspired.' Evidently the aasimar has been focusing on portraits this whole time, finding it much easier to see beauty in people than in objects or scenery. A digression into style and material goes on for a good ten minutes, Tanna evidently having a broad if not expert familiarity with many of the fine arts- perhaps Marian was correct in her guess that Tanna is of Bright blood? Eventually, Tanna manages to work things around to...

"If you're willing, I would love to get a painting of my Little Hawke and I. Something private and... intimate, to display in my bedchambers." Let's see how you lik-

Haliel Lightsong

"I'm not very good yet really, I just started learning, but I would be happy to try if you both want," Haliel offers happily, looking thrilled at the idea of having more time to spend with both of them. Marian really does look... happy. Nervous, very much so, which is... disheartening. I had hoped... but given her past, I cannot blame her for being wary that her happiness would be taken from her by those that say they care for her. Hopefully, she will grow more certain as she realizes that I am happy she is happy. Sad that it is clearly not me that will make her so, but... I should have expected it really. That's not the life I am meant to have. "
I am the Light of My Soul.

Marian Hawke

"That-- that would be wonderful. I am... it would be a lovely reminder of our time together," she adds, hesitantly. "If I end up leaving, that is."
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Tanna

Tanna glances up at Marian, expression growing somewhat guarded. "Leaving?" she asks neutrally. "Is that... the plan? When?"

Haliel Lightsong

"Our group will likely be leaving in a week or so," Haliel supplies quietly. Perhaps more than I should say but... vague enough and... this could be important.
I am the Light of My Soul.

Marian Hawke

"I  hadn't wanted to bring it up before, but... if there is... well, I am not... opposed to staying, exactly," she says slowly.
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Tanna

"Really?" Tanna asks, letting her voice quaver, just a little. "You would want to stay and... be mine?" she asks softly.

Marian Hawke

"I... I would," whispers Marian. "If you'd have me." I didn't mean to do this in front of Haliel -- she's sure to be angry. But...
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.
