The Amell Legacy: Transgressions

Go Down

Marian Hawke

"Help me," she whispers. "I don't, I don't want to be evil anymore, I don't. I don't want to do this anymore. I--

Of course it flashes before her eyes -- there's no heights here, not exactly, but there are depths, railings to keep you from plummeting. Not far from here, running distance; one of the stairwells down to where the gates to the lower markets are runs past a ravine, a gorgeous place to climb and a long drop, likely into magma, if you hop the railing.  She doesn't have your soul yet, her mind whispers. Before she does, while you're still yourself...

She shakes her head, reaching for her tunic, not wanting to be naked anymore even if she doesn't go anywhere. "I don't," she whimpers. "Please."
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Haliel Lightsong

"Marian, look at me. "I will not let her. I won't. I swear to you, I will stop you from- from allowing it if I have to. Please trust me? Please."
I am the Light of My Soul.

Varric

"We can have the tat removed here- Vangalite temple would be happy to help with that I'm sure. It... it'll probably hurt. A lot. But we can get them both removed. All of them, if you want."

Marian Hawke

Marian nods, gulping at air. "I-- I don't have to jump," she whispers, more to herself than anyone else. "I don't. I have friends now. I can -- we can--"

Your friends will leave you, her mind whispers. Once they know what you've done.

What are you afraid of, little bird? Your friends' disgust? Then face it. Prove it has no hold over you.

"I-- I need to tell you what happened. To make you understand. If you-- if you don't w-want me after that, I don't-- it's better to know now than later."
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Zevran

"As long as you remind yourself that you were tricked and forced into doing at least some of it," Zevran says as he returns with a damp washcloth and a cup of water to Marian to clean herself up with. "Even before that... slavery mark, Haliel said she was a user of potions and spells, no?"
Life without Passion is just another form of Slavery.

Varric

Varric lowers his head. Say it. Say it. She needs to- to be warned that- she needs- "I... Start- start with non-sexual first," he forces out. "I... I might need to step out for... for that stuff. Even... even the most basic stuff bothers me," he mutters. "Because of... me."

Marian Hawke

"There... isn't much," she whispers, wiping at her mouth. "I-- it was-- Tanna was teaching me to... to push past my sexual limits. All of it, from the start, was sexual. Is that-- do you-- can you-- knowing I'm... knowing that I've... it wasn't all her and her potions. I enjoyed it. S-some of it. M-most of it. Except. But-- a lot of it, I enjoyed. Is that-- knowing that i'm deviant like that, can you still--?"
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Varric

Varric is quiet a moment, his expression distant and calculating- the same face he wears when running over a proposal or new theory. Finally he nods. "It... it's not much of a difference to me. All sex is... disquieting to me. You being a... very enthusiastic practitioner isn't much worse than knowing most people do that sort of thing."

Haliel Lightsong

"Until the end, when you... pushed in too deeply and I couldn't breath, I was enjoying our activity," Haliel supplies quietly.
I am the Light of My Soul.

Marian Hawke

"Then... maybe I... maybe I can tell Haliel and Zev, and-- you and Bela can go play cards, and... when we're done, Zev can give you his assessment from a, from an expert perspective, and Lightsong can give you the novice perspective, without saying what it is I did?" she asks, hesitantly.
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Isabela

Isabela gives a guilty wince, recontextualizing the few times she's flirted with the dwarf. "Sure, we can do that. It's been a while since I played cards with my clothes on -- might be a fun change," she adds, hoping to reassure him she's not going to take advantage of the situation.
"Our mistakes make us who we are"

Varric

Varric studies Marian for a long moment, then nods. "If- if you need me to come back in, I can... manage a bit. If there's a part you need me for or..." He stands, nodding again. "Blackjack or wicked grace?"

Zevran

"that is a rather fine idea," Zevran agrees. "I... I mentioned that I was a slave to you recently. To be more precise, I was a pleasure slave for seventeen days out of every month on average. I am familiar with... what sort of games people will play with someone that cannot say no."
Life without Passion is just another form of Slavery.

Isabela

"Blackjack," begins Isabela, but she stops when Marian speaks.
"Our mistakes make us who we are"

Marian Hawke

Marian's stomach heaves, but she keeps her lunch down this time. "I-- I was taken-- I was taken. I.. they were going to use me for-- I escaped. V-varric and Haliel c-came for me. I don't-- I don't th-think about it m-much. Varric said I would-- said I needed to process-- but I just c-can't. Just like B-beth."
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.
