Helene Dakesh

Helene nods. "This one fears for the apprentice. For Marian," ne corrects. "This one has not been able to reach Marian since... for some time now. This one does not understand how to assist. But this one..."

Ne shakes nir head, rubbing at nir temples. Someday soon this one will be back to full capacity.
"Explain. In detail, please and thank you."

Haliel Lightsong

"She's changed. Again, I mean. This... she needed answers, needed a place to belong. And she accepted the promises only evil is willing to give, because they were want she wanted to hear. But she knows them as lies now." Haliel continues to watch Marian fly despite the tears in the corners of her eyes. "I wish she hadn't had to-- to learn as she did. But she has."
I am the Light of My Soul.

Bethany

With a long, only partially done for dramatics groan, Bethany lets her head drop to thump against the desk. "Why did Marian have to be right?" she grumbles, thumping her head again. "Paperwork and running stuff is hard." She, Carver and Roland (mostly Beth and Roland, to be honest, though Carver tries) have spent the last four hours interviewing and reviewing the remaining servants at the zi'Amell estate and it's wearing on them all. "Talking to the Lights yesterday was easier than this and that was nerve wracking."

Carver Amell

Carver sits next to Beth, rubbing his twin's back gently. "If you're not up for this..." he begins, not for the first time.

Bethany

"It has to be done and I'm making you do it alone. No offense, Roland," she adds, turning her head to flash a smile at him. "The feels good... neck please?"

Roland

"None taken, milady," the bard says with a chuckle. "The two of you are doing great. What say we take a twenty minute break to grab a snack and clear our heads, then resume? We've covered all the high level slots that are still filled so..." Course, that's a big qualifier-- we're short a head cook, head landscaper, two valets, a purser and a whatever the fuck a chamberlain is.
How the fuck did this get so out of hand..?

NPCs

Before either of the twins can reply, there's a polite knock on the door. Beth grumbles, but sits up straight and gestures for Carver to step back a little to present a proper image. After her call to enter, a servants steps in and bows. "Milady, milord, a caller has arrived. She does not have an appointment but was... most insistent that she be allowed to call upon you, milady."
We are many. We are legion. We are... NPCs!

Carver Amell

Carver stares at the servant. "Who is it?" he demands. "Tell her we're busy."

NPCs

We are many. We are legion. We are... NPCs!

Bethany

"Shan?" Bethany blurts out, a glorious smile forming. "Yes, yes, gods, yes. Send her up. Oh, and have a tea service sent up as well. With whatever cakes we have. Or get plum ones, if we're out."

Carver Amell

Carver turns to her, frowning. "Are you sure?" he asks, slowly.

Bethany

"Why wouldn't I be?" Beth asks, confused. "You remember Shannon, right?"

Carver Amell

"Ye-es... but I was... different, then," he says, slowly.

Bethany

"Oh. Right." Beth looks startled, almost like she'd forgotten that angle. "Well... Shan's great, she won't make a big deal about it. And if she does, I'll have a word with her."

Carver Amell

"...if you're sure," says Carver. He gives the nod to the servant.
