Bethany

"What? Bullshit, you've plenty grace. You're just..." Broader and bigger. "You have twice their stamina and drive." Or at least... You did. Once. "Doesn't matter if you aren't... Well. Aren't Shannon. You have your own virtue."

Carver Amell

Carol drops her gaze, swallowing. "I used to believe you," she whispers, looking down at her hands.

Bethany

Another crack widens in her heart. "Used to?"

Carver Amell

"I'm worthless," she says, in a flat, dull tone, staring at her hands.

Bethany

"D-don't be silly. You can't be worthless. You mean the world to me. S-so... so you have to be precious, priceless even. Because I love you too m-much for you to be... be that." Bethany swallows, wishing she had better words than that t offer. "We- we should get you rinsed off. And dressed. I know you hate being... like this."

Carver Amell

"Yeah," she whispers, and takes a deep breath before standing slowly.

Bethany

Nodding with jerky movements, Beth rises and turns the water back on without care for her dress. She cleans off the blood with quick, almost professional speed, then pulls her twin out of the tub to dry her off. "You... We should go check on Hunter after you get dressed."

Carver Amell

"Yeah," she whispers, but she does not smile.

Marian Hawke

In the wee hours of the morning, there's a knock at Lightsong's quarters. It seems the Moonlight Princess has picked up Lightong's "little sister" in a bad part of town, watching illegal pit fights, and wanted to ensure she gets home safe from her big adventure.

"Seems to be a lot of that going around: nice girls sneaking off to bad neighborhoods. Let your friends know it's not worth dying over," she says, before departing.

Which leaves Marian, guilty expression on her face, to admit to Lightsong and Brianne what she's been up to...

"I just... you know... I needed... Uh..." she mumbles, unable to meet the aasimar's eyes.
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Haliel Lightsong

Lightsong studies her for a long moment, then sighs. "I..." She bites her lip, then nods sharply. "Brianne, would you mind if we went out for a little while?" Even after two weeks, the aasimar is still almost unnervingly polite and considerate to her new catfolk roommate. Perhaps doubly so given the broken mess she had turned Brianne's old pimp into when he had swung at the paladin.
I am the Light of My Soul.

GamesMaster

"Yah, yah. Gonna get more sleep anyway," she says, smiling despite the dismissive words.

Marian Hawke

"Sorry," says Marian, wincing. "I just didn't want to wake Master for this sort of thing."
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Haliel Lightsong

Lightsong smiles warmly at Brianne, then pads over to pick up a small wicker basket near the foot of her cot. "Thank you. Please, follow me Bells. You need to get cleaned up and relax."
I am the Light of My Soul.

Marian Hawke

"Of course, sister," she says, relenting a bit. She follows after Lightsong, nervous about what the paladin will say when her new friend is out of earshot.
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Haliel Lightsong

Predictably, Haliel lights up (thankfully only emotionally) at the title used. Which was likely why Marian did so... After a minute, Haliel blushes, then asks quickly, "sorry, I forgot to- are you hurt? Do you need healing?"
I am the Light of My Soul.
