"To be fair, I'd probably make you or Varric actually do it," she points out.
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Haliel Lightsong

Haliel gives her a 'you know what I mean' look. "I have some silk rope in my pack-- do you want to bind your tail and try again? Or not today?"
I am the Light of My Soul.

Marian Hawke

"Not today, I think. I'll have to think on this some. Sorry."
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Haliel Lightsong

"There's nothing to be sorry for," Haliel says firmly. "We learned something and we took some steps forward. I'm pleased with today. And proud of you."
I am the Light of My Soul.

Marian Hawke

"Thank you," says Marian with a slight blush. "I'm glad."

Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

The music is gone. She can almost hear it if she strains, really strains ,but it's just a figment, a ghost. The music is gone and she's broke and her stomach aches and she's got mud in her white hair but the music is gone and that's the important part, the part that really gets to her. Brianne limps her way on a swollen ankle down the street in Coalside, looking for her pimp Jay, desperate for work. Desperate for cash. Desperate for the music.

Nox

"Briar Rose?" The voice that calls out to her is almost jarring, not because of the tone or tenor, but because it's far too beautiful and refined for this side of town. Stepping out of a run down but mostly respectable dry goods store, an gold kissed aasimar looks at her with concern. "Bri, what happened?"
Lay down your burdens, weary one, and allow me to tend you.

The music is gone. She's sober enough to shut her mouth, swallowing, trying again. "Need cash. Seen Jay?" she manages, her voice a dusty croak, her hands shaking with withdrawal, her stomach clawing at her with the urge to be filled so she can empty it again.

Nox

Wrinkling his nose, Nox shakes his head. "That's a joy I try my hardest to avoid, Briar darling." He hesitates a moment, then continues, "I was about to head home and make some chicken bone rice. Care to join me? Lux is working and I do so hate to eat alone if I can help it."
Lay down your burdens, weary one, and allow me to tend you.

Food. Her parched mouth manages to summon up saliva, her stomach growling loudly. "Alright," she says, after a moment. "I can't pay."

Nox

Nox shrugs a little. "You do the washing up and we'll call it square," he replies as he starts off for the apartment he shares with his twin Lux. She never eats much, not when she's this bad off. We can spare it. "Long day?"
Lay down your burdens, weary one, and allow me to tend you.

GamesMaster

"Long week," she mumbles. "Got sober." She takes a deep breath, wincing a little as she puts too much weight on her right ankle, and adds, "I jus' need some work. Then 'll be fine."

Nox

Nox has a quick but intense debate with himself. "You know, the temple can always use volunteers. No pay but they feed--"
Lay down your burdens, weary one, and allow me to tend you.

GamesMaster

"No pay's no good," she cuts him off. "I need cash."

Nox

"Better a full stomach than nothing," Nox says gently, the words slipping out despite knowing she won't change.
Lay down your burdens, weary one, and allow me to tend you.
