Like that is it? Damn. Can't blame her for that really. ''Alright. So sounds like the first priority is to find a way to get into proximity to... Principal C. Shouldn't be too hard to get some gossip on both of them really. Find out their hobbies, where they hang out, that sort of thing. Work our way in closer and closer. Hmmm. Basic bios of the two Principals? Age, gender, description, and so forth?''

"They're twins, both nearly fifteen. Principle B has lighter hair, while Principle C is darker in coloration, but they're nearly identical. They were identical when they were born. Ah, their personalities have changed since I saw them last -- B seems to be the more outgoing one, while C is reserved, quiet. They just bought a dog and a cat this morning."

''Okay. Merkios, elf or human?''

Varric

''Alright, two human nobles, nearly fifteen, female, one shy, maybe ill or troubled, the other more active and social. They get along during the outing?''

Marian Hawke

"Yes. B seemed.. worried for C, attentive," she admits. "Their uncle died recently, maybe a month ago, so it might just be grief going on between them. They have a mother; father is deceased, the uncle was the mother's twin. C is courting someone seriously, the mother's pick for heir since C's slightly older, but I haven't heard if B has anyone."

Varric nods slowly. ''Sounds like B is our ticket. If she's more outgoing, easier to get close to. And once we have her, we can get to C. So first step is looking into gossip to figure out what groups she's in, who she's friends with, what activities she does, and so forth. The answers to that will determine which of us is best suited for the approach.''

Marian Hawke

"How?" she asks, hesitantly. "She's a Light's daughter, that's a pretty exclusive social group."

Varric

''Servants, tutors, vendors, entertainers. If- and this is big if- we need to, we can pull an Aladdis but that never goes as smoothly as the story implies. And it's either massively expensive or lasts for one encounter.''

Marian Hawke

"Tutors, I could do-- I mean, Helene could be a tutor, that works easily enough," she says, glancing away. "She's really good at teaching."
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Varric

''Eh, either of you would work. Seeker is brilliant and has the, eh, cachet for the job, but you're closer in age but female, which is important to noble types.'' Varric shrugs. ''Might do well to do both.''

Marian Hawke

"Seeker is female," Marian points out, frowning.
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Varric

Varric hesitates for just a second. ''Not what I meant- you being their age is a plus, more relatable, but if you were male and their age, that would be a problem. But you aren't.''

Marian Hawke

Marian nods, still frowning. "Right. Alright. So. How do we obtain the data we need? I suppose you have a strategy to collect the appropriate gossip?"
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Varric

''Too many variables as yet for fine detail. We need to find out what groups B is part of before we can refine our approach. Groups and hobbies, select a person and approach, then tweak the manner of interaction. The method that Shiney would use is worlds different than Seeker after all.''
