Carol jumps, glancing toward the shared door. "B-Beth? I-- I went to get a sn-snack,"

Bethany

Beth scoffs. "Please, you barely eat when food comes to you. Don't lie to me "

Carver Amell

"Then-- then don't hide from me," stammers Carol. "why are you hiding in my room?"

Bethany

"Wh- oh shit,.sorry." A beat later Beth appears in plain view where there's no cover at all. "I- you coming in with that expression made me forget .What the fuck, Car?"

Carver Amell

"What do you mean what the fuck? You're invisible in my room! I have a right to privacy!" She scowls at her twin.

Bethany

"I was invisible to your room. Just hadn't dropped it when you came in. And stop trying to change the subject," she hisses back.

Carver Amell

"This is the subject! Why are you here!?"

Bethany

"Because I wanted to talk to my twin. And would you stop shouting before you get me caught?" Beth looks at the door to her room with concern.

Carver Amell

Carol lowers her voice to a whisper. "You could have just come to the door like always. Why sneak in? What's going on?"

Bethany

"Because it- because it's after midnight and I have a glyph primed over my heart. And now that I've answered a bunch of your questions, I would like you to answer mine- which I asked first, thank you."

Carver Amell

She blinks, startled. "It's that late? I didn't hear the bells.." she murmurs, looking away, slightly ashamed of herself. What am I doing, yelling at Beth? Beth's not the problem. She just startled me. Why is my heart racing so fast?

Bethany

Beth's eyes narrow and she moves closer to Carol, carefully looking her over. "And what were you up to this late that was so distracting?"

Carver Amell

"I just-- I was at the kitchens, I, I went for a walk around the estate. I can't sleep. That's all," she whispers. Don't make me tell you. Don't push this. Please, m'win.

Bethany

Beth folds her arms, expression set. And hurt. "Lie," she says softly. "Twice tonight, you've lied to me about..." She licks her lips. "You were with... him, weren't you? At night, alone, in your nightclothes."

Carver Amell

Fear -- honest fear -- flashes across her face. "Please," she whispers urgently. "Beth, please, I'm begging you, don't do anything. Don't make trouble. It's fine, I'm fine, please don't start something."
