"I'm not going to let you slink off and kill yourself, even if you are being a-- a-- a stupid bitch right now!"

"Marian!" Lightsong scolds her best friend. "Please take a breath? For me?" Turning back to Carol, she gives her a hard stare. "I understand that you love Villain Jadan. No mortal is utterly without good nor evil. Perhaps he loves you, perhaps he was truly kind to you. But could you be with a man that is evil, even if he were not evil to you personally?"

[Carver Amell]

"Yes!" she says, tearfully. "I've never had anything in my life, never,  that made me happy and was mine like he was! Is it so wrong to want someone to love  me!?"

[Marian Hawke]

"So that's just it," snaps Marian. "Your twin, your mabari, neither of them matter next to him?"

[Carver Amell]

"I-- I-- But you took Hunter away from me, and Beth kept trying to take Jadan, and-- and I just wanted to be happy!"

[Haliel Lightsong]

"Miss Bethany loves you! Even now, she's hurt more than anything else. And Hunter loves you." Lightsong shakes her head. "Villain Jadan is the one that tried to separate you from Hunter. And Miss Bethany."

[Carver Amell]

"He never! Beth and Hunter were the ones who hated him! And I don't understand why!"

[Haliel Lightsong]

Lighstong studies Carol for a moment. "So... three people love you. Two of them distrust and hate one of them. Why do you assume they're the ones that are wrong? Can you not even consider that it might be Villain Jadan who is... in the wrong?"

[Carver Amell]

"Stop calling him that! He's a good person! He's never done anything wrong!"

[Haliel Lightsong]

"Would you prefer Rapist Jadan? Or Slave-seller Jadan?" Lightsong asks politely.

[Carver Amell]

"He never!"

[Marian Hawke]

"We just told you he did!"

"Beth is lying! Why can't you see that! Why doesn't anyone believe me?!"

[Haliel Lightsong]

Lightsong takes a deep breath. "Miss Bethany personally experienced what she is claiming. You are denying it based on character reference, but don't have any proof or counter arguments other than your love for him, your desire he not be that person." She glances to the side, Seeker and Mister Varric went to get more supplies from town. "What about... you know about Truthings, correct? What if Miss Bethany gave testimony under such?"

"She won't be able to -- she always hated Jadan and she's just making things up now because she hates me too, for loving him."
