Carol breaks down, sobbing as she cuddles the puppy close. At least Hunter loves me.

[Varric]

"Habits, daily patterns, any names of business partners... hundreds of things but most it is things I don't know if I need to know yet. Or things she might not even realize she knows."

[Haliel Lightsong]

Smiling sadly, Lightsong sits down next to Carol and lets her just... sit with her dog for a bit. Good. I was hoping this would help.

[Helene Dakesh]

Helene frowns, sifting through the hated parcel in her mind. "Most of this I do not understand how to obtain," she admits. "This one is poor at gathering information about individuals without divine guidance."

[Marian Hawke]

"How about what the hell she was thinking, talking to Beth that way," mutters Marian.

[Helene Dakesh]

"Primarily fear," reports Helene. "She honestly believes Beth would try to sabotage her happiness. She is frightened she may never be happy again."

[Varric]

Regearing his mind towards the problem, Varric hums. "Why is she so insistent that Rapist is her only chance of happiness?"

[Helene Dakesh]

"It seems that she has been desperately unhappy for some time, most of her adult life. It seems he makes her happy when very little else does. Beth did not make her happy, but spending time alone with Jadan does, so she feels she must side with him."

[Varric]

Varric winces. That has to hurt. A lot. Trying so damn hard to take care of someone, to keep them alive and stable and... they just don't care, chasing the sparkle instead. "Don't use names, they sound the same and give listeners too much of a hint," he says absently.

[Helene Dakesh]

Helene nods. "Apologies. It seems that... oh."

Helene flushes faintly, swallowing, and changes what she was about to say: "It seems they engaged in sexual activity on multiple occasions." and it made her feel feminine and wanted in a way little else has.

[Varric]

"My condolences for having that in your head," Varric says with a wince. Gods, that must be horrid. "So... wait That seems... unlikely. What's everyone's read on... Lively Twin? Personality, interactions with people? Because she seems really nice and friendly, if a bit snooty and sharp-tongued at times. Yeah?"

[Marian Hawke]

"I have seen her be cold and standoffish, but yes, she seems to genuinely care for her sister."

[Helene Dakesh]

Helene nods in agreement.

[Varric]

"...then why does Zombie Twin not associate any degree of happiness or joy with Lively Twin? Even I have some fond memories of my bother and-" He's trying to kill me. "We haven't been close for decades. Hells, I haven't even seen him in person for years. This doesn't feel natural."

[Helene Dakesh]

"There is sentiment, and affection," Helene says slowly. "This one suspects it is fueling the stronger sense of betrayal and anger -- she believes she trusted and loved her sister until her sister tried to destroy what happiness she had found. The rapist was able to entice... ah... feelings, that her sister was physically unwilling to induce. It seems she was the one asking for sexual activity, which the rapist was happy to provide, and that this activity was a net positive."
