The Amell Legacy: Transgressions

[Helene Dakesh]

Helene, about to respond to Varric's points, wilts slightly. "Understood. This is beside the main point."

[Varric]

Varric sniffs disdainfully. "Says you. No way in Hells that I'd want to spend any great amount of time with somebody that wasn't at least intelligent, if not genius. Have money, at least enough to get on with, and I can pretty easily make more."

[Marian Hawke]

"But if they don't have a silky beard would you even give them the time of day?" retorts Marian. "Attraction isn't based on how smart someone is, you either want them or you don't, and then you get to know them."

[Helene Dakesh]

Helene refrains from pointing out how much money she makes, though she badly wishes to.

[Varric]

Why the hell am I staring somebody's beard?  "I mean if it looked bad because they were sloven or unclean, then sure maybe.a person's appearance can tell you a bit about how they conduct themselves but it's only an indicator. Doesn't mean much in and of itself."

[Marian Hawke]

"Or whatever you're into. Tits. Hips. Legs. Whatever."

[Helene Dakesh]

"This one does not care overmuch about physical appearance in a potential partner," says Helene. "This one cares more for personality and actions."

[Varric]

What is Tabby even talking about?  "Again, more worried about having to interact with them. Compatibility of personality and then being able to keep up with me." He nods at Helene, approving of how they put it as well.

[Marian Hawke]

Marian blinks. "Yeah but you have to be attracted to someone first, right? First you're interested, then you get to know them, then maybe you date. Or you find out they don't like you that way and you don't date."

[Varric]

Varric shrugs. "That's the common way of doing it, from what I understand. But like you were saying, some people are into different things. Looks like Seeker and I aren't into physical things."

[Marian Hawke]

Marian opens her mouth to argue, then hesitates, closing it again after a moment. "Oh," she says quietly. 

[Varric]

Varric waits a moment for her to finish. When she doesn't, he clears his throat and prompts, "oh?"

[Marian Hawke]

Marian shakes her head. "Nevermind. Well, just, I'm not exactly typical myself, I guess, just, I'm... different."

[Helene Dakesh]

"Epic poems have been written about physical beauty," counters Helene.

[Marian Hawke]

"Well... but... I mean... I guess," mumbles Marian.
