[Marian Hawke]

She shrugs a shoulder. "Not seriously. I mean... uh, a lot of stuff just makes me randomly, you know. But not like a crush or anything. I guess Jadan was kind of cute, but I sure as fuck ain't going for that."

[Varric]

"Wel, how many girls have you had serious crush is on? And, follow up, how many girls worth having crushes on do you met in comparison to guys worth having crushes on?"

[Marian Hawke]

"I meet plenty of guys all the time," she mutters. "Hot ones. I'm not interested."

[Varric]

Varric shrugs a bit. "Fair enough." Doesn't sound like you were impressed with any of them though. "Not like any of it makes any sort of sense or logic. Lust and romance would be called a kind of madness, if people didn't like them so much." He doesn't sound too disdain or condescending at all, despite the low opinion he evidently has for those emotions. He really just does kind of sound like he doesn't get it.

[Helene Dakesh]

"They are, unfortunately, necessary," Helene murmurs sympatheticly.

[Marian Hawke]

"Oh come on, like you've never done something stupid for lust."

[Varric]

The dwarf considers that for a moment, then shakes his head. "Nope. Never saw the point of it. Saw my brother make a right bronto's ass of himself more than once though." Varric considers it another moment and shakes his head again. "No, not for lust." Feeling like they deserve a bit more honesty from him, he adds, "love, once."

[Marian Hawke]

Marian glances at Helene, then away. "So just me then? Great. Stellar. Amazing."

[Helene Dakesh]

"In fairness, this one has always known that this one's feelings would never be reciprocated," Helene points out. "This one understands that it is typical to do extreme behaviors when young and in the hopes of finding a mate."

[Marian Hawke]

"Still, you never saw someone who was just so beautiful or whatever that you couldn't help it, you'd do anything for them?"

[Helene Dakesh]

Helene nods. "This one once wanted something so badly this one thought this one would die without it."

[Marian Hawke]

"Something?"

[Helene Dakesh]

Helene nods again. "To join Alydra's service."

[Marian Hawke]

"Oh, that's not the same thing at all!"

[Helene Dakesh]

Helene shrugs. "A person gets at most one impossible dream per lifetime. This was mine."
