The Amell Legacy: Transgressions

Go Down

Merrill

Merrill, assuming that is her actual name and another another, more subtle insult, has gone utterly still. She happened to have her back to the approaching group when they arrived and has remained that way. Her eyes are wide and her breathing quick and shallow.

Carver Amell

Carol cuddles the pup, shooting a quick glance up to Merrill. Oh no, poor girl, this is going to be trouble.

Marian Hawke

"Yeah, there's laws and stuff, you can't just barge in here and kidnap me -- unless this village is a front for slavers?"

Wow. I have got to give that girl some lessons on indirect attacks and subtlety. "A bit blunt perhaps but she does have a point. What are we looking at, Seeker Helene, Grand Oracle of Alydra and Arch-Diviner."

Helene Dakesh

"There should, according to the treaties signed when this village became a protectorate of Nyra, be a public trial. The accused has the right to request or refuse a truthing, and should the accused -- being a Nyran citizen -- require it, the accusers must travel to Nyra to bring suit in a Nyran court. Otherwise, a Tribunal of Elders may be convened, with or without truthing spells, to judge the truth of the matter, so long as their punishments are in line with Nyran law."
"Explain. In detail, please and thank you."

Varric

"And something tells me that none of that has-"

NPCs

"I am not passing judgement!" the Elder thunders dramatically. "I am here to take the... accused... into custody so that she might be questioned. Outsiders cannot be trusted to submit to justice after all." Some of the posse seems to be reassured by that explanation but some are more dubious. And the wizard with the staff is staring at Helene with wide eyes. She takes a step forward and asks, "Seeker Helene-Who-Was-Dakesh? Author of 'A Study of Ancestor Veneration in Pre- Sovereignty Elven Plains Tribes?'"
We are many. We are legion. We are... NPCs!

Helene Dakesh

"The same," says Helene simply.
"Explain. In detail, please and thank you."

Shisou

"So who's being accused?" asks Shiori, casually.

NPCs

Most of the group looks confused- by both lines of conversation. The wizard starts to mutter something, pointing at Helene a few times, but only a third or so of them seem to be paying attention to her.

Elder Jorim scowls. "The attacker of course." He looks around, seeing the four young women to chose from. Dark hair, young, female, used a knife... "Her." He juts his chin out at Marian.
We are many. We are legion. We are... NPCs!

Marian Hawke

"What." says Marian flatly. "Fine. I request a truthing."
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

NPCs

What? Is... then... "Of course, we will have to ask the rest of the possible suspects to come along as well," Elder Jorim says quickly. "Poor Mistheart suffered a terrible case of shock thanks to the assault and her recollection is... scattered."
We are many. We are legion. We are... NPCs!

Marian Hawke

Yeah, I bet. "Well that shouldn't be hard -- what race did she say? Surely we don't all fit the mold. At least, not if the accusations are, you know, credible. I mean if I want to the Guard with 'some mortal attacked me, they had two legs' I'd get laughed out of the station."
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

NPCs

His neck reddens as his temper rises. "Of course she gave more than that! For one, she said she did not recognize the attacker and your group are the only strangers in the area." He sneers, clearly thinking that a killing blow.
We are many. We are legion. We are... NPCs!

Varric

"Huh. No magic around here then?" Varric asks brightly, glancing pointedly at the three wizards.
