The Amell Legacy: Transgressions

Marian Hawke

Marian scowls at Shiori as the girl-in-drag comes to take the knife, but after a long moment, hands it over. Not like I can fight them all off anyway.

Then, even more reluctantly, unslings her crossbow and hands that over. Though if I were going to, I'd use the bow.
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Haliel Lightsong

"Shall we then?" Lightsong is polite but her tone makes it clear that she is not expecting any more complications or orders. Without waiting for a reply, she moves to the three sisters, blade drawn and shield readied as she takes a protective stance around them.
I am the Light of My Soul.

Ten minutes later, all three ladies are standing in the center of the village. Well it's a little hard to be sure of that for outsiders, as the buildings have a knack of blending into the woods, but there's a clearing that is clearly mortal-made, a border created by a a half buried ring of out-of-place sandstone. A fair-sized crowd is still forming, including another four older elves with those amulets and a trio of young female elves that Carol would recognize. One of them, with the fairest hair, has a very fancy scarf wrapped around her lower face.

Mathruc and Jorim head right to the other Elders, both of them speaking rapidly and with increasing levels of irateness. Merrill places herself between Carol and Marian and refuses to speak or make eye contact with anyone. Instead, she simply cuddles the baby faerie dragon close and trembles. Lightsong takes her duty as protector of the now unarmed ladies very seriously, staying just in front of them. Varric, on the other hand, attempts to have a quick conversation with Carol, trying to wring out any last second details he can use to solve this as neatly as possible.
We are many. We are legion. We are... NPCs!

Varric

"Did they say anything?" he murmurs, wishing that Carol spoke something other than common and badly accented draconic. Because nearly every Nyran noble speaks draconic- it is the 'magical' language after all. "Names, motivations, threats, anything at all?"

Carver Amell

"They tried to hurt Hunter," she says, her voice low and menacing. "I didn't give them much chance after that."

Varric

"...okay. Elves aren't able to bond to mabari so that's not as powerful a thing, but still a noble and magical beast so could help a bit. Anything else?"

Carver Amell

She shakes her head. "Laughed at me. Then they tried to hit me and I struck back and they ran off."

Varric

"Damn. No names at all? Did you cut the one that attacked you? What about that tannery fluid?"

Carver Amell

"no, yes, and that was before I got there."

Varric

"Wonder how they got the stuff? Or dumped it on her... Hmm. Anything else you can think of?"

Carver Amell

Carol shakes her head, glancing toward the elders.

NPCs

Varric starts to ask another question but goes quiet when two Elders break off from the others to approach them. One is Elder Marthuc, the other is... "This is Elder Blossomsong, a cleric of Uryll. She will be casting the Truthing for the village. I presume Seeke Helene-who-was-Dakesh will be casting for your party?"
We are many. We are legion. We are... NPCs!

Helene Dakesh

Helene nods ."Are we prepared to cast?"
"Explain. In detail, please and thank you."

NPCs

"How long will your Truthing last? And which type will you be using?" Blossomsong asks in very, very elven common.
We are many. We are legion. We are... NPCs!

Helene Dakesh

"This one will be using a Zone of Truth. The last time it was cast it lasted ten minutes. This one can also use the Touch of Truthtelling, but as multiple targets are to be questioned, the zone is preferable here."
"Explain. In detail, please and thank you."
