Bethany

"I- he's not my boyfriend but-"

Jassinth

"Merikos drow, thank you. If you are going to be racist, at least be accurate," the young man says with a smile.

Bethany

Beth's mouth moves silently for a moment. "What? Zev, what in Ciren's tight ass is going on?"

Marian Hawke

Marian pushes herself between Jassinth and Beth, brushing hair behind her ear. "What are your intentions with my sister?"
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Jassinth

"Being accosted evidently," Jassinth says brightly. "For one, I am not.. Zev, nor have I ever had that as a nickname. I am Jassinth of the Oak, initiate ranger. I would say it a pleasure to met you, but I do try not to lie to ladies. Or other women for that matter."

Marian Hawke

Her lips purse together in a tight line. "Is your mistress nearby? Or have you been sent afield?"
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Jassinth

Jassinth stares a moment, then points over his shoulder at the Oak. "Of the Oak. The god Oak," he says slowly.

Bethany

"Marian, stop it," Beth hisses, reaching over to grab her sister's shoulder. "I-" She stares at Jassinth intently. "You... damn. You aren't him. Your eyes aren't the right shade. And you're nose is longer. Damn."

Marian Hawke

Marian's eyes harden a bit. "Right. Well as it seems there's been a case of mistaken identity, have a wonderful afternoon while I go interrogate my sister as to why she's dating a drow."
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Bethany

"We never dated," Beth says with a huff. "Look, sorry, I evidently need to explain to my sister that drow, especially merikos drow, can be awesome people that offer hope, joy, comfort and someone to hold you at night because every other part of your life is painful and smothering."

Jassinth

The merikos drow stares a moment, then slowly takes a step back. "Yes... you two have a wonderful afternoon as well," he says carefully, trying to escape. Now.

Marian Hawke

Marian gives Jassinth no more attention as she turns to scowl at Beth. "Or, and hear me out, he could be undercover trying to woo you so he can steal you off to the underdark and sell you!"
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Bethany

"Zev would never!" Beth hisses, eyes snapping with temper. "You've never met him, you don't know anything about him!"

Marian Hawke

"Why do you trust him?" she snaps. "Has he made you promises? Have you had him under a truthing?"
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Bethany

"Not unless you consider me a truthing."

Thankfully, Beth manages to keep that comeback spoken only in her head. Out loud, she just sighs. "Okay, one, public street? Maybe not the place for this. Two, step back and calm down."
