The Amell Legacy: Transgressions

Bethany

I know how that feels... "I... I think I'll see if I can find Shiori and... Storm. I..." She runs a hand through her hair. "I think I need o clear the air there too. And... eat some crow."

Marian Hawke

Marian looks at her critically. "Just... be careful. We don't know if she's... in a mood."
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Bethany

"Absolute worst case, sh- err, Varric gave the all clear for Calm Emotions. I cast and leave before it wears off," Beth promises. "But yeah, I'll... offer to talk and let... my twin decide if... now is a good time."

Marian Hawke

Marian nods. "Alright. Stay safe."
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Bethany

The town not being all that big, it doesn't take long for Beth- with her ever diligent pavitra escort- to track down the foursome of Lightsong, Shiori, Merrill and her twin. Merrill has been coaxed into trying on a new dress as well, the paladin enthusiastically supporting her. Beth's path slows as she gets closer, her nerves causing her to second guess herself. Gods, what do I... how do I start this? Should I ask to talk? Open with an apology? With 'I love you' or something like that? Start casual and work into it? Maybe... uuuuuggh!

Haliel Lightsong

"-like the way the soft green looks on you. It works well with your eyes." And there aren't any dull spots where the mending magic you've been using has done just not quite enough. Low level magic can never really fix or clean things back to new. I both wonder and fear to know how long she's been wearing that same ill-fitting drab brown dress. Or smock really. Even I can tell it's not of good quality nor pleasing to look on. "What do you think, Storm?"
I am the Light of My Soul.

Carver Amell

As usual, it takes Carol a moment to react -- partly because of the new name, and partly from having been staring off into the distance while they tried on dresses. Some part of her is preparing for it to be Her Turn, for her to have to pull on a lacy petticoat -- and it's startling to remember he's in trousers, his hair cut short, able to be as masculine as he desires.

"Huh? Oh, uh, yeah. It looks really good."

Shisou

Shiori nods enthusiastically. "Green is definitely your color. Oh, but you should try a fuller skirt next. With your narrow hips, a tight bodice with a fuller skirt helps create an illusion of balance, drawing the attention just where you want it -- up to your chest, if you're corseted, with some beading on the bodice, or down to your flowing skirt otherwise, showing the drape of the fabric. You'll need petticoats to really pull it off, of course -- they're more popular in Glaley, but they really do help the fall of the skirt."

Merrill

The elf blushes, eyes wide and a little wild at all the attention. The positive attention. She's still bracing herself, still expecting them to suddenly turn on her. That this is just a cruel trick, a new game. But the length, the effort... even the most wary, hurting part of her is finding it harder and harder to doubt that maybe, just maybe... He thinks I look really good? Her blush intensifies at Car's absent compliment and she casts her eyes down. "Umm. Okay," she whispers, then casts about for something safe to add as she's starting to realize that they want her to talk. "I... beads are pretty?"

Bethany

Quietly, Beth slips into the shop and heads for her twin. She dithers just another moment, which gives Lightsong and Shiori enough time to notice her, taking away any more time for her to stall. "H-hey," she says softly.

Carver Amell

Carol turns, already bracing herself. This is going to suck, he thinks, then immediately feels guilty. Time was Beth was his refuge, his savior. When did that change?

"Hey."

Bethany

Beth opens her mouth, a dozen, two dozen things competing to be what she says. What comes out after an agonizing three seconds of silence is, "M'glad your happy. Err. Happier. About- hair and- Gods. I mean- I wish that- that we- I- Gods."

Carver Amell

Car turns away slightly, swallowing hard, hands trembling a bit. "...yeah," he says, cautiously.

Bethany

"Sorry, I'm- I'm a bit of a mess right now," Beth says with a rueful, almost self-mocking tone. "I... I just got raked over the coals for... Well, Marian and Varric just tore me one for... carelessness, I guess? Dreams instead of plans and... wanting things without thinking it all out and..."

Carver Amell

Car shrugs a shoulder. "You've always dreamed big."

After a brief pause, he adds, "It helped. When I couldn't."
