"I'll come too," blurts Marian.

Isabela pats her on the head. "No, pup, you won't. But I'll take the pavitra. Might be handy."

[Haliel Lightsong]

Haliel can't hide the look of hurt that comes at how fast Marian offered to just... leave them. All of them. 

[Bethany]

"The fuck?" Beth blurts out. "You're just going to leave?" The 'again' is very, very audible. 

[Marian Hawke]

"You don't need me here," she snaps. "I thought you'd want me to help get your boyfriend back."

[Isabela]

"Good news, I'm not taking you anywhere, so you two can fight about it later?" offers Isabela. Boyfriend?

[Bethany]

"How- stop calling him that!" Beth hisses. "I'm dating Shiori and it's not fair to her for you to imply I'm cheating on her. Zev and I were lovers and friends, we were never dating or anything. And besides-"

[Haliel Lightsong]

"Miss Beth," Haliel says crisply. "Take a breath. Your sister is not abandoning you." She studies the young woman, then adds, "nor is would be going alone into that... monster's reach. If- if- she goes back to Nyra, I will go with her. She won't be alone. I know it stings for her to just... say she wishes to leave without warning, she has good reason for the thought. At least partially."

[Isabela]

"Right, let me know when you have those locations," says Isabela, heading for Varric. Definitely family drama.

[Marian Hawke]

"Partially," she says bitterly. "Nobody trusts me anymore. Everyone just assumes I'm an idiot doing things for no reason, or worse."

[Haliel Lightsong]

Haliel turns to look at Marian full on. "I never said you were an idiot, Marian," she says softly. "And can you honestly tell me that your reasons for making that offer had nothing to do with a desire to have more sex with Miss Isabela?"

[Marian Hawke]

"I wouldn't take on something that risky just for sex," she snaps. 

[Haliel Lightsong]

"Hence partially," Haliel says evenly. 

[Marian Hawke]

"Not even mostly for sex! Not even for sex! If you must know I'm falling in love and this could be my one chance to be happy!"
