Haliel Lightsong

Varric curses softly even as Lightsong- who had taken the religion section yesterday and the summoning and necromancy sub-sections the day after so is now just hanging around- reaches Marian's side. A flash of healing light fills Marian with a taste of unending hope, unshakeable benevolence and, strangely, a thirst for color.

"Marian, you said you would be careful," the aasimar accuses.
I am the Light of My Soul.

Varric

"You know, it's things like this that make we wonder if you are not, in fact, somehow related to me, stubborn girl," Varric chimes in as he nears them.

Marian Hawke

"What, I'm fine," she mutters, her words slurring just a bit. "Shove off, I've almost.."

She jots down another rune, mouth forming syllables she doesn't voice as she struggles with the problem.
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Haliel Lightsong

Scowling, Haliel takes advantage of Marian's current state and steals the workbook.
I am the Light of My Soul.

Marian Hawke

Marian yelps, reaching for it with a wince. "Hey!"
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Haliel Lightsong

"Bad Marian! No mind-splitting pain," Haliel scolds her, tucking the paper... down her front.
I am the Light of My Soul.

Bethany

Leaning over to Shiori, Beth murmurs, "how is that supposed to discourage Marian from getting that back?"

Marian Hawke

"I'm already in pain, let me finish!" she whines, cringing at the sound of her own voice.
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Varric

"My hand is already burnt, let me play with the coals more?" Varric rolls his eyes. "Marian... magical formulae and ritual layouts are clearly migraine triggers," he adds, voice more gentle.

Haliel Lightsong

"We can experiment with other ways to finish the test but you have to rest now."
I am the Light of My Soul.

Marian Hawke

"No," she whimpers. "There has to be a way. If I just push through--"
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Bethany

"Uh, as the best healer in the room, I can assure you that 'pushing through' a migraine will end up with you bedridden for a couple of days," Beth calls out. "Seriously, stop being so... Hawk-ish, we already know you're related to us."

Varric

"Oye! I'll have you know the Tethras Clan is more stubborn than steel!"

Marian Hawke

"What he said," agrees Marian, looking up at Lightsong through tears. "Please? Let me try?"
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Haliel Lightsong

"...Marian... please don't make me watch you hurt yourself," Haliel begs softly.
I am the Light of My Soul.
