Tethras Clan

"A talk I have dreamed of for years," Zevran murmurs, then shakes his head. "Right. Loot, fire, escape."

Vigile

"Very good, just this way and we'll see about healing those that need it," Vigile says encouragingly, four females from mid-teens to early thirties following him into the room.

GamesMaster

"Yeah, I got a question," says a voice Vig doesn't recognize -- a raspy voice, pitched ambiguously between masculine and feminine. Without further warning, a toad springs at him from out of a heating vent, trying to ensnare him with hypnosis.

Which Vig resists nearly effortlessly.

Vigile

"I believe I have located Lady Shoushi-hime's familiar," Vigile calls out to Isabela. "What is your question?"

GamesMaster

"uh."

Carbonne blinks, swallowing the stinger line xe was about to deliver after effortlessly taking out the attacker. "Which way to the restrooms?" xe asks, blinking.

Vigile

"I am uncertain but I imagine there would be such upstairs?" Vigile offers, blinking, as the people behind him stare at the talking cat and toad.

Tethras Clan

Looking amused, Zevran smiles at Isabela. "We should probably get moving," he says somewhat reluctantly.

Isabela

"Yes," she says, then blinks, adding, "Oh, in case it wasn't clear, Beth's fine, her twin's fine, her sister's great, everyone's good. I told them I'd bring you back that way when we got you free."
"Our mistakes make us who we are"

Tethras Clan

"I..." Zevran lets out a long, slow breath. "I... thank you. That... that will be wonderful. I- you would like Beth, I think," he remarks as they head upstairs.

Isabela

"If she's half as delightful as her sister..." purrs Isabela, taking his arm.

Marian Hawke

Marian sits on the porch, sipping the juice Beth's brought each of them, watching Carver and Lightsong practice weapons. She's been instructed to take a break, just in case, which she resented at first, but she has to admit it's nice in the shade, and it gives her a good chance to watch Carver in action. He really is different, she marvels, as her sister has a seat beside her. Strong, and... More focused. More determined. Even in swordplay, he was only so focused, only could handle it for so long. It's like he's been reborn.
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Bethany

Settling down next to her sister after putting a bowl of dried fruit and nuts between them. "He looks so happy, doesn't he?" she murmurs softly, slipping her hand atop Marian's. "These last few weeks have been... rough but... his smile."

Marian Hawke

"I can't get used to it," she confides. "This is why? This is... It's so weird to me. I thought we were all three girls. Carol wasn't the girliest, by any stretch, but she never... I have this one mental image of this one dress she had, when you were three, all purple velvet and lace. She was so pretty, and she seemed so happy back then. And to realize she was a boy the whole time? I feel like I should have known somehow, but there was nothing, no sign.."
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Bethany

"Mmmmh," Beth says softly, eyes never leaving her twin. "But... there were signs, they just... by the time there were enough of them, Carver was trying to hide them. Well, I mean, before then you were already exiled." She sighs a little, looking guilty.

Marian Hawke

"The first day I saw you two -- you were buying Hunter," she adds, causing the mabari pup to glance up at them before turning his attention back to his master's efforts.

"I was worried. Carol was so quiet, and you were so... domineering. You were never like that as a girl. And Carol just... she barely talked. I kept thinking, what went wrong without me? What was happening in that house, that broke Carol's heart that way?"
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.
