The Amell Legacy: Transgressions

[Helene Dakesh]

Helene blinks, startled. "It is a rescue, then? Will you not need help?"

[Varric]

"Probably but unclear. And... yes." He hesitates. "I'd try alone, if I had to but..."

[Helene Dakesh]

"Then I will accompany you, and help convince any you require to join on as well," says Helene firmly. "This person is important to you. Therefore, I will assist."

[Varric]

"Are you sure, Helene? This could get... really messy. Dangerously messy, worse than Nyra was. And maybe even worse than..." He swallows thickly. "Near the Roots."

[Helene Dakesh]

A stubborn lift of the chin, a slight narrowing of the eyes. "Yes." 

[Varric]

A flicker of warmth catches in Varric and he smiles, a real one this time. "...alright. Thank you."

[Helene Dakesh]

Ne smiles, then, a shy smile. "Of course. Who will you wish to bring?"

[Varric]

Varric runs a hand through his hair. "...not the twins or Merrill. None of them are anywhere near ready for combat yet, just in case. Shiny maybe- she's our best combatant in most cases. Marian... not sure."

[Helene Dakesh]

"It.. may be best to keep an eye on her," admits Helene. "But... Can she be trusted?"

[Varric]

"Marian?" Varric blinks. "Like... not to fuck up or... betrayal?" 

[Helene Dakesh]

"This one was concerned about the latter. Marian's path is growing very dark very fast. This one has concerns."

[Varric]

"I... I mean, she needs support but... I don't think she's really going evil or anything," Varric says slowly. "She could, sure, anyone could. Even Shiny has a path that leads to evil... even if it's really, really tiny and- anyway. She needs support and someone to give her other options- when she's ready for them anyway. She's as stubborn as a dwarf, so pushing her will just make her dig her heels in."

[Helene Dakesh]

"Zanon," Helene says flatly. "Even Kato has a fire aspect that would match her bombs."

[Varric]

"Nothing wrong with storms. Or Pride, in check. Ambition, if tempered. He's not all bad really. Or, well, His dogma I should say." He shrugs a little. "Hells, I had a year or two where I gave Zanon a shot"

Helene's frown only deepens. "Did you."
