Tanna

It takes Marian longer than she thought it would to find the right place, long enough she was just going to be on time (a minute or two late is basically on time, right?) instead of being early like she'd planned. So it's not a surprise to enter the shop- which turns out to be a bakery- to discover that Tanna is already there. What is more of a surprise, an unpleasant one, is seeing the young dwarf leaning on her table, deeply engrossed in conversation. Tanna seems amused, leaning back in her chair as she runs a finger around the rim of her tea mug. There's a small stack of books on the table as well, with one open in front of the aasimar, and as Marian watches, the dwarf gestures at an illustration she can't quite make out from the door. Even Marian, who struggles to read people at times, can tell he's attempting to impress Tanna... but she can't tell if it's working.

Marian Hawke

Marian purses her lips together, scowling for a moment. See if he gets the better of me--!

Then she plasters on a bright smile, striding up to the table. "Good to see you again," she says, cheerily, but there's a fire in her eyes, a tension in her body, that's not hard to read. "I just got done with those books this morning."
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

NPCs

The dwarf starts, then straightens up so he can give her a hostile look. "Pardon," he snaps out, "but you're interrupting a private-"
We are many. We are legion. We are... NPCs!

Tanna

"Mary!" Tanna says brightly, her own eyes lighting up and her lips curving in a warm smile. "I was afraid you were going to stand me up."

Marian Hawke

"Never," she says, grinning. "You're too beautiful to make you pout."
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Tanna

"You haven't seen me pout," Tanna says in a low purr, not even glancing at the slowly reddening dwarf.

Marian Hawke

"I could never bear to mar the perfection of your beautiful face," she replies, smirking. Why did I bring up her pout?
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Tanna

"Perfection is boring," Tanna says airily. "I prefer the chase, the struggle of the contest. Striving for a goal, the burn in your blood, the flushed skin, the thrill in your heart." She shrugs with one shoulder, the edge of her cloak caressing the slope of her breast fetchingly. "What can I say? I am endlessly in pursuit of... satisfaction."

Marian Hawke

"Me too," she says, her heart racing. "I seek to perfect myself, if I can. Knowing no mortal is ever really perfect."
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Tanna

"And what does a perfect Mary look like?" Tanna asks, leaning forward a little.

NPCs

"What the fuck!" the dwarf demands, getting right in Marian's face. "I said I was talking to her," he snarls, a bit of spit getting on the merikos elf.
We are many. We are legion. We are... NPCs!

Marian Hawke

Marian meets his eyes, as if daring him to attack. "Do you hear something, Tanna? Some annoying buzzing sound?" she asks, falling back on schoolgirl tactics.
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Tanna

Tanna sighs, then pouts a little- which is indeed, worth the viewing. She doesn't seem impressed with Marian's reaction to the dwarf however- perhaps schoolgirl tactics aren't exactly a good choice to impress such a worldly wonder as Tanna.

NPCs

"Look at me, bitch," the dwarf snaps, more spittle flying. He doesn't take a swing, but he does lift a hand and fist it in clear threat.
We are many. We are legion. We are... NPCs!

Marian Hawke

"Or what?" she says, her voice low, staring aggressively into his eyes.
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.
