Go Down

Haliel Lightsong

Tanna flinches as the ring hits her in the side, her eyes flicking that way for just a split-second. But that's long enough for Haliel to shift her weight back, then punch Tanna has hard as she can in the jaw. There's a soundless roar of thunder as the power in the smite ignites and holy power flares at the impact.
I am the Light of My Soul.

Tanna

Tanna lets out a horrible shriek, purple black wings appearing to curl protectively around her face as she falls against the wall. Marian gets a single glimpse of her profile, of a curling black horn, purple slitted eyes and bloodred hair before she just... vanishes.

Haliel Lightsong

"Sceleratis," Lightsong spits, hands reaching for the straps of a shield, the hilt to a sword, she doesn't have. "Marian! Are you okay?"
I am the Light of My Soul.

Marian Hawke

For Marian is staring wide-eyed at the spot where Tanna was, shaking like a leaf, much of the color drained from her face. "I--  sh-sh-she-- sha-shapeshifter--"
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Haliel Lightsong

"Sceleratis often are," Haliel confirms, moving to lay a gentle hand on Marian's arm. A beat later, more healing wash through the other woman. "Marian, look at me. We need to get dressed. Get your things." And I'll gather what I can, anything magical, alchemical or paperwork. Varric and Helene need- oh drat, Varric I suppose- to look it over to make sure... well.
I am the Light of My Soul.

Marian Hawke

"I--"

She takes a step back, pulling away from Haliel, still shaking. "I-- I c-can-- I can't-- you d-d-don't unders-stand-- I've-- I-- she-- after a-a-all I've d-d-done, they wo-won't--"
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Haliel Lightsong

"Marian, look at me. Look at me," she repeats for firmly. "I love you. I will not abandon you. Please trust me?" she begs.
I am the Light of My Soul.

Marian Hawke

"I f-f-ucked a Sc-sceleratis," she whispers. "H-how can you b-bear to t-touch me? I-- you're so-- h-how can you l-let me t-tarnish you l-like th-that?"

Still, as she wipes at her eyes, she does look up at Haliel, eyes desperate, pleading.
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Haliel Lightsong

"You didn't know, for one," Haliel says gently, holding out her arms. "For another... I love you. Dumb or wise, I can't say and I don't care. I love you. I will never not want to help you, Beloved. It's just not in me." Whether you accept that help or not... or whether that help is the help you want... that is more complicated.
I am the Light of My Soul.

Marian Hawke

Marian throws herself into Lightsong's arms, bursting into sobs against her chest. Gods, gods, gods. All those times I was worried, I felt like something was wrong -- all those times I pushed that away, let her lead me. I'll never trust myself again. Gods.
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Haliel Lightsong

Haliel cuddles Marian close, slowly pulling the pair to the kitchen, where Haliel grabs a large carving knife. Now armed, however poorly, she focuses on helling Marian get some degree of emotional stability. "I've got you," she murmurs softly, rubbing Marian's back. "I've got you. We'll get through this, together. I promise."
I am the Light of My Soul.

Marian Hawke

She takes a deep breath, then another, slowly getting control over herself. "Where can I go?" she whimpers. "i don't-- no. no, I-- Varric promised. He promised if I-- I think if the choice is Tanna or him he'll let me stay, even if he doesn't.. approve of me anymore."
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Haliel Lightsong

"Silly Marian, of course you have a place," Haliel says gently. "We've been worried about you- that won't change because you were tricked." If anything, realizing you were seduced by a... I think that was a lilin? Almost sure anyway. "It's okay. Varric will stand by you. I think Zevran will as well. And I will not leave you, I swear. Even if they don't, I won't leave you. If they want me to stay, then so do you."
I am the Light of My Soul.

Marian Hawke

Marian nods, then, swallowing. "If I-- I'll g-g-get my th-things-- and... I'll c-come c-clean. About wh-what's been happening. To Bela and Zev and Varric and you and-- m-maybe not Helene, ne has enough to w-worry about r-righ now, but..."
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Haliel Lightsong

"Good, that's good," Haliel says warmly, pressing a kiss to Marian's forehead. "Get dressed, get your things and I'll search the place. Then it's back to the inn, alright?" And I'll order up food and hot drinks on our way in. You need a bath, food and warmth, I think.
I am the Light of My Soul.
