"If you act ashamed of ssstuff, p-people know it hu-hurts to p-poke it," she explains softly.

[Carver Amell]

"Well, I won't-- I won't act ashamed. I'll be angry instead. I'll threaten to hit them."

[Merrill]

"Won't that just get you in trouble?" she asks, sounding worried.

[Carver Amell]

He shrugs a shoulder. "Depends on the person I guess."

[Merrill]

"...you... sssaid it w-would be a lot of p-peoples," she points out. "So....

[Carver Amell]

"I don't know. I'll ask Beth how to handle them -- she's good at this sort of thing. But I'm not going to.. I'm not going to walk around with my eyes on the ground anymore. I'm going to hold up my head."

[Merrill]

"Then... why not... do what m-make you h-happy?"

[Carver Amell]

"you make me happy. Okay?"

[Merrill]

"B-but so d-does Jass. And-and you can h-have both."

[Carver Amell]

"No I can't-- I won't cheat on you, Merrill. So it doesn't matter. Okay?"

[Merrill]

"Cheat?" Merrill says, startled. "What?"

[Carver Amell]

"I'm with you. If i'm with someone else, it's cheating."

[Merrill]

"Even if I'm also with that p-person, like before?"

[Carver Amell]

"I... I don't know, Merrill. Why are you so dead-set on this?"

[Merrill]

"Umm."  Why do I feel so... "B-because... because... it feels... important," she says slowly. "W-we b-both... liked it and... it feels... we've b-both b-been t-told we can't have w-want we like t-too much."
