"Which is why we're... being creative. We need to punish you two, to appease the nobles." She smiles faintly. "Or rather, we need to look like we're punishing you both. Though I suspect Private Lowell at least will think it punishment," she says, sounding apologetic. "I'm sending you for some special training. Diplomacy classes, to learn oratory skills for use in situations like you just faced, as well as domestic disturbances and hostage situations." Weird, those sorts of classes are normally part of a Sargeants training... "In addition, you're both being taken off active duty for the next two days." Which is normal after a minor injury but sounds like they're being suspended... "And finally, you're both off market duty for the next month, just to keep you clear of that area. You'll be on Adrift patrols when you get back for a while."

Wylde

Wylde groans. "Oh no. The Adrift are..." Terrifying, she doesn't say aloud.

Solras, The Protector

Solras, Daughter of Umdor, and Elder Private of the Watch shrugs, and winces in pain. That shoulder really took a heavy blow. "The Adrift...." They're not that bad. Terrifying, sure, but they don't show the same xenophobia as elves.... in fact anyone who meets their standards is accepted and that makes them alright in her book. She's not sure that she likes their standards, but at least they're nto picky about who they accept.

Aveline Vallen

Vallen looks a touch surprised. "I'd've thought you would be more upset about the lessons," she admits, looking at Wylde.

Wylde

She rubs the back of her head, shrugging a bit. "It... can't be that bad, right? I mean... right?"

Aveline Vallen

Vallen's gaze turns pitying.

Solras, The Protector

"We will rise to the challenge." She of the many names asserts. "This training class will not stand in our way."

It's not a combat class Soras. It's far far worse.... but then you'll find our about that soon.

Wylde

"I mean... knowing what to say is a good thing right?" asks Wylde, a hint of a whine to her voice.

Aveline Vallen

"It is," Vallen assures them both. "And... classes. Not class. Three separate courses, each running twenty hours a piece. Two start day after tomorrow, three nights a week for an hour, back to back. The last starts in two weeks and runs for six hours on Silvaday, with an hour break in the middle, then a two hour test after three classes."

Wylde

Wylde stares at her openly. "What. I -- I can't do that! Can't the last be six days, an hour each?"

Aveline Vallen

"That's the only availability. There's another class in four months but Thems don't want to wait that long- and it's still six hour blocks, just a different day."
The Law cannot protect anyone, if it does not apply to everyone.

Wylde

Wylde gives a soft, impatient whine -- an actual whine, like a dog, though it becomes a groan quickly, almost as if she's embarrassed. "That's inhumane! That's got to be actual, literal torture. Legally speaking."

"Every sergeant in the guard has taken and passed that class, Private Lowell. I've take it twice myself, the second after they updated the course last year."

Solras, The Protector

Solras, Daughter of Umdor, and Elder Private of the Watch tilts her head at that...... wait.... they're getting punished by being sent to *officer's* school?

Wylde

She jogs her leg, anxiously, letting out a small groan. "I guess," she adds, her tone subdued, a bit of a pout forming on her split lip.
