The Midnight Prince

[Rokag]

"Y..yeah." Rokag looked back towards Kor. "After we get this done, we can do that? I...guess you can't just do both, right?" And I...she might still be mad at me. "And if I make Tsuki wait longer for the one part of this she actually wanted to help with, she would probably be pissed for the rest of the week."

[GamesMaster]

"I will ask about the divination, but it might have to wait until after the wedding and the baby divination."

[Rokag]

"Yeah....yeah, that's fine." Rokag took a couple of breaths. "I can wait that long. Probably wouldn't want me to get in more trouble just to check somthing that might not be different in a couple weeks, right? It's been...pretty long already" She sounded more like she was convincing herself.

[GamesMaster]

"Exactly. Once you have your dowery, you'll be able to spend it on divination if you wish, or your husband will have to take up some income source or another -- his father, pardon, stepfather will need to settle something upon him for an income, possibly that menagerie he enjoys so much -- so you will have that. Things can be arranged."

[Rokag]

"It'll at least get him to leave Shisou alone for a bit." Rokag took a moment to grit her teeth before continuing. "I don't trust that he will, but it'll be more obvious why he's doing it."

[GamesMaster]

"Yes," agrees Kuronue. "If your child is what we need, I can't imagine he would do anything to Shisou again."

[Rokag]

"...thank you." Rokag took a longer breath. "For all of this. I...know you didn't have to help, but thank you. Even if it's to make sure who I was."

[GamesMaster]

Rokag looks beautiful on her wedding day: a long veil of Glalian lace, a skirt that accentuates her hips, a corset to hold any sign of her burgeoning belly in. Shisou looks handsome as well in a Glaley-style suit and a pale pink vest that matches her gown perfectly. His cousin Shinji stands on his side, and Tsuki stands on hers; as she makes her way to the groom she is ambushed by Indou and his band of warriors, but Kuronue stands and fights them off with Tsuki and Shinji at her side. Shisou steals a kiss as they chase Indou out of the chapel, blushing with pride as he does so. 

And then they speak their vows, and then they are wed, and everyone gets to eat cake. Indou makes a gross joke about Lord's Rights, but this isn't Alessa, and he's booed when he says it. All in all, it's not a bad evening. And neither are their bedroom games bad afterward, when they can go to bed as man and wife at last. 

All night they hold each other, trying to stave off the creeping, sinking feeling inside. 


Two days later, they gather in the same chapel again, this time to offer prayers to their ancestors and have the baby divination done. The priest wears auspicious blue, and they are both cloaked in the family crest: Rokag wearing a formal kimono, now with short sleeves for a married woman, and three cricket crests across the back, while Shisou wears a matching hakama, with three seals on his back as well. They bow in unison to the priest, as Kuronue offers the fee on their behalf. Then all there is to do is sit and wait. 

"Two lives," the priest pronounces, swinging a censor over Rokag's stomach. "Twins. I see... Undine. They are outbloods." 

[Rokag]

Rokag gave the priest a look as she tried to be sure that she'd heard that right. "You...wait, are you sure?" How in the fuck are there twins!? Wait, what does that even...isn't that MORE baby!

[GamesMaster]

"Twins run in my family," suggests Kuronue. "I am not a twin, but my mother was."

[Rokag]

...Shisou's a fucking Triplet. Rokag wasn't sure WHY she hadn't thought of that, but was still stunned by the fact she was having twin und "They're twin outbloods?" Fuck....is...so...does that mean they're safe as long as she can...as long as she's...

[Shisou]

Shisou wraps his arms around her, then, hugging her tightly. We did it! We saved the family! 

[Rokag]

Rokag wasn't sure how to...entirely take this. The hugging was nice, and after a little delay, she hugged back. She knew this was supposed to be a good thing, and that they'd be safe from Indou. The man was an Eel and ruthless but he wouldn't do anything to screw up a shot like this. But she was going to be pregnant....Double pregnant, apparently and she felt sometimes that she'd want to be anything but.

And apparnetly I become fragile as hell, which doesn't make any fucking sense. She remembered a vague story about her mother fighting some kinda large serpent when she was still pregnant and that hadn't caused her to miscarrage...but also she hadn't been double pregnant.

Shisou would probably notice that Rokag was a little cool to the touch, tho that sometimes happened if she was either distressed or frustrated with something.

[Shisou]

"A-a--a--a-are y-y-y-y-you a-a--a-a-aalri-r-r-ight?"

[Rokag]

"Hmm?" Rokag blinked, suddenly turning to face Shisou. "Oh...um, yeah, I'm alright. Just...I had thought to prepare in case it wasn't...that we got different news." Rokag now suddenly realized that she had NO idea what Undine even looked like.
